Historia
Abigail Brantley grew up in affluence and knows exactly how to behave in high society. But when she is cast from the social registers due to her father's illegal dealings, she finds herself forced into a role she never imagined: tutoring rough Kansas ranchers in the subjects of manners and morals so they can "marry up" with their mail-order brides. Mack Cleveland, whose father was swindled by a mail-order bride, wants no part of the scheme to bring Eastern women to Spiveyville, Kansas, but as time goes by, his heart goes out to the teacher.

Boring
Revisado: 04-13-18
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I've loved Kim's books in the past. This one was so slow and I found myself halfway through wishing it would be over already. Since I was already halfway through I was determined to finish it. The characters were one dimensional and not believable. They were too perfect and everything tied of a little too neatly. There was zero romance between the hero and heroine. Ughhh.... I wish I would have just stopped. It was time wasted.
What could Kim Vogel Sawyer have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Made the characters more believable. They were SO cheesy.
What didn’t you like about Pilar Witherspoon’s performance?
The characters were not represented well.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I guess it encouraged you to look to the heart of people and not just the rough exterior? It really was not good.

Relatable Characters and Challenging Message
Revisado: 05-27-14
Would you listen to Through the Deep Waters again? Why?
Yes! I loved how each of the characters where relatable. Each one of them brought a different perspective to the theme of the book. I couldn't stop listening!
What other book might you compare Through the Deep Waters to and why?
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. The situations were close and the theme of Christ's love and Him being the only one who is enough ran throughout.
Have you listened to any of Kate Turnbull’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not that I remember.
