Another Marine Corps Epic Battle During Vietnam
Revisado: 09-06-18
This Book 488 Was Outstanding, I couldn’t put it down. As retired Marine Officer the personal backgrounds of the 18 Marines and 2 Corpsman helped personalize the 24-Hour Battle for me. This not well known battle in the early years of the Vietnam War made one feel you were there with Charlie Platoon. This Battle was fought around the timeframe of Army 1st Cav Battle written in”We Were Solders!”

It is January of 1879. While three columns of British soldiers and their African allies cross the Uminyathi River to commence the invasion of the Zulu Kingdom, a handful of redcoats from B Company, 2/24th Regiment are left to guard the centre column's supply depot at Rorke's Drift. On the morning of 22 January, the main camp at Isandlwana, just 10 miles to the east, comes under attack from the entire Zulu army and is utterly destroyed.

Historia
Arthur Wesley (the future Duke of Wellington) was born and bred to be a leader. With a firm belief that the nation must be led by a king, the red-coated British officer heads for battle against the French Republic, to restore the fallen monarchy. Napoleon Bonaparte joins the French military on the eve of the Revolution. He believes leadership is won by merit, not by noble birth. When anarchy explodes in Paris, he's thrust into the revolutionary army poised to march against Britain.

Really enjoyed this book. As a historian I felt the author made it very easy for the reader/listener to visualize what happened during the time of Napoleon, Wellington & the French Revolution. The narrator was exceptional!

The Mountain was a great reading experience. I could not stop listening to the story nor put the book down! David Golemon's Event Group Series are some of best book to read. The Mountain Pre-qual brings a new direction for the reader and opens new story lines and characters to enjoy.

Historia
Action-packed from the start, Hidden Order demonstrates yet again why Brad Thor is the "master of thrillers". A string of high-profile kidnappings has Washington, D.C., in a frenzy. When the victims begin turning up dead, frenzy turns to panic. And when the ransom demand is finally made public, panic will turn to terror. In Brad Thor's riveting new thriller, the stakes have never been higher, nor the lines between good and evil so hard to discern.
