Historia
This compelling spiritual quest by Hermann Hesse, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1946, is considered one of the most important works of 20th century fiction. Siddhartha's search for enlightenment leads him to the river of life itself. On his journey he learns from many teachers: the ascetic Samanas, the all-knowing Gotama the Buddha, Kamala the lovely courtesan, and Vasudeva the simple ferryman.

Great Narrator, Not the full story
Revisado: 02-04-21
This book is my favorite book of all time and I really like this narrator. He is very sincere in what he is reading and adds much to the story. I knew this was abridged, but it is only 4 chapters. This would be my favorite audible title if it was just complete.

Historia
The year is 1970. Emma Gable, a blind teenager coming of age in a small industrial town in Western New York, is about as far from the seismic cultural transformations rocking campuses and city streets across America as a person can get. Emma escapes the chaos of her dysfunctional family by dialing up random numbers on the phone in her bedroom, just to see who'll answer.

Indulge Yourself
Revisado: 08-14-20
Just wow. This is one of the first of its kind. That being a story with such a high production quality in sound that I would rank this higher than many TV shows. If you liked Gotham and especially Jim Gordan (I did) and Stranger Things, this is almost like a better audio mix of them. Nostalgic, thrilling, and well worth the listen. Indulge yourself with this one, it is good.

Not like anything else
Revisado: 08-12-20
Can't compare it to anything because it is not like anything I have read or listened to. A short and listen-worthy title of a man's life, creations, and struggle to make meaning of his father leaving him-a struggle so many of us deal with.

In recent years, intermittent fasting - restricting calorie intake for a set number of hours or days - has become an increasingly popular diet strategy. While some in the medical community initially dismissed the idea as a dangerous fad, recent research not only validates the safety of fasting for weight loss but also offers compelling evidence of wide-ranging health benefits, from reversal of diabetes and other metabolic disorders to enhanced cognitive function and increased longevity.

Didn't like it at first
Revisado: 07-20-20
I am a vegan who loves the blue zones philosophy. because of that, I don't eat meat or animal products and I prioritize the foods and bluestones like beans and whole grains. parts of the what to eat in this book contradicted those values I had, but I later accepted that the philosophy was more on the macronutrient spread that a person should consume to combat hunger and not so much the exact food groups. being a certified personal trainer in the past as well, I was well versed with the calories and calories out equals how much body fat percentage you have. I was super intrigued at the beginning of the book when the doctor was saying that that was completely untrue and not how weight loss and weight gain works. I'm glad to say it that I am happy I did not put the book down and feel like I now understand why hunger is way more important than anything else when it comes to weight loss.

Good and Weird
Revisado: 06-26-20
Overall, it is kind of a weird thing to follow because there are so many stories. I like the stories at first a lot more like with the droids. this title brought some creative aspects to an audiobook that I've never seen before, but it also had some strange and unexpected content. it is worth the read but at times is kind of hard to follow.

Buddhism has captivated many millions of people around the world, its vitality and adaptability enabling it to transform the civilizations of India, Southeast Asia, Tibet, China, Korea, and Japan, and also become a lively component in the cultures of Europe, Australia, and the Americas. But have you ever wondered how a religion that doesn't even have a god could have accomplished this?

Revisado: 10-08-19
I wanted to get back to finish the story! I read this in a high school business class and have always though of it as a personal growth classic. Great story that serves as a metaphors to many things in life. Though you may recognize the metaphors, they will still inspire you to think of things in your life differently.

When does enlightenment come? At the end of the spiritual journey? Or the beginning? In After the Ecstasy, the Laundry, Jack Kornfield brings into focus the truth about satori, the awakened state of consciousness, and enlightenment practices today. The result is this extraordinary look at the hard work we all must do - the laundry - no matter how often we experience ecstatic states of consciousness through meditation and other disciplines.

Jack Kornfield is always great
Revisado: 10-07-19
This is the third book I have read by Jack Kornfield lately. I have enjoyed all of his books so far, but this one spoke a lot about Christianity and other religions instead of just Buddhism. he spoke about a spiritual journey for many different people without having to pay one religion to follow. He drew wisdom from many different places and it was a great read.
