Not my usual fare
Revisado: 04-28-17
I'm not normally into books that talk about the religious and spiritual subjects, but this book was recommended to me by a family member so I thought I would check it out. I was NOT disappointed. The stories in the book are sad, happy, poignant, and everything in between. There isn't too much overly religious stuff, which would have turned me off of it, but there is a little. What the story does have is touching moments and some funny bits to keep you moving right along. I would definitely recommend this to anyone struggling in life, or someone who just wants a good read about an incredibly program in the barrios of LA.

Books of quotes are hard to do in audio form. Finding the right cadence without rushing the reading or boring the listener is tough job but this narrator did a great job at it. the soothing sounds in the background were a nice touch. A must have if you find yourself lacking motivation or feeling less than competent at a task.

Funny, honest, heartening
What did you like best about this story?
I liked that, even though her life was pretty much ended, it ended up being better than it had ever been. Watching her grow as a character was pretty great.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.
