I hated the ending.
Revisado: 09-30-16
This book in general was fantastic, as all from this author are. I hated the ending. I won't give it away, but I wouldn't have read this book had I known.

Historia
When an intricate old map is found stuffed into the walls of the bistro in Three Pines, it at first seems no more than a curiosity. But the closer the villagers look, the stranger it becomes. Given to Armand Gamache as a gift the first day of his new job, the map eventually leads him to shattering secrets. To an old friend and older adversary. It leads the former Chief of Homicide for the Sûreté du Québec to places even he is afraid to go. But must. And there he finds four young cadets in the Sûreté academy, and a dead professor. And, with the body, a copy of the old, odd map.

Not a great read
Revisado: 02-01-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I only got through three quarters of this book - the characters are too shallow and predictable and the language is clipped and unrealistic. I would not recommend this book.
Would you be willing to try another book from Jenny Hilborne? Why or why not?
Probably not as I did not enjoy the sing-song writing style.
Would you listen to another book narrated by David Gilmore?
Yes
Did Madness and Murder inspire you to do anything?
No
Any additional comments?
I would not recommend this book.

Too much SEX
Revisado: 07-05-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
a little spice is great, but this book was much more about sex than a story line. I couldn't finish it.

Historia
Determined to find out what happened to her former deputy chief, Jack Fielding, murdered six months earlier, Kay Scarpetta travels to the Georgia Prison for Women, where an inmate has information not only on Fielding, but also on a string of grisly killings. The murder of an Atlanta family years ago, a young woman on death row, and the inexplicable deaths of homeless people as far away as California seem unrelated. But Scarpetta discovers connections that compel her to conclude that what she thought ended with Fielding's death and an attempt on her own life is only the beginning....

I hated this book
Revisado: 03-09-12
What disappointed you about Red Mist?
I have read the entire series and this book and her last seem like different authors. Kay is always so angry. I got about half way through and decided it wasn't worth my time.
Has Red Mist turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I love murder, thrillers, and intrigue, but I won't buy another Patricia Cornwell book.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Kate Burton?
No, I think she added to the anger.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Red Mist?
n/a

I loved this book!
Revisado: 01-31-11
I've read all three of Tana French's books, in order in the past month and have loved them all, but this was my favorite. The accents are great, the family intrigue is interesting. Overall it was a very enjoyable book.

Historia
Port Mortuary, the title of Patricia Cornwell's 18th Scarpetta novel, is literally a port for the dead. In this fast-paced story, a treacherous path from Scarpetta's past merges with the high-tech highway she now finds herself on. We travel back to the beginning of her professional career, when she accepted a scholarship from the air force to pay off her medical school debt. Now, more than 20 years and many career successes later, her secret military ties have drawn her to Dover Air Force Base, where she has been immersed in a training fellowship.

Very disappointed
Revisado: 12-27-10
I was very disappointed in both the narration (too dramatic) and the book. Kay is now angry, self analyzing and melodramatic. I've read all the Kay Scarpetta books, and didn't like this book at all.
