No resolution to the story. Just awful. A few laughs along the way but I was so disappointed.

A Book that Made Me a Better Person
- De Jeff Diamond en 03-29-13
Boring, felt like I was being read a textbook.
Revisado: 01-04-13
I had HIGH expectations for this book. It's a classic, and being made into numerous plays and movies I figured it had to be a great listen in its entirety. I was so very disappointed. This book right from the get go is boring and drawn out. If it was more focused and stayed on track with the characters I'd be able to listen to it. But every time it starts to get good the writer goes into some other boring description of something not related to the story, and keeps going on and on for sometimes up to an hour about a non topic. I found myself constantly letting my mind wander and not listening at all. Perhaps I should try the abridged version. I just couldn't get into a story that doesn't stay focused on itself. At least it was only one credit....

This book isn't amazing, but its a fun listen and doesn't get too graphic or deep. I enjoyed it enough to keep listening and to look forward to it when I did put it on. Great voices, I loved her parents.

I don't need to say much more about this book that everyone hasn't already. It really exposed me to a world I was not familiar with and I loved it. So did the husband. It kept me loving almost every moment of the story, and re-listening again. Its a well written book, which could only be improved by a better narrator.

I was so glad this was over.
Revisado: 09-20-12
I thought this series would be amazing. So much hype from so many people. But I felt it fell flat. It got predictable, and I found that I didn't care wether Katness lived. The voices sound too much like each other, and it got too detailed in parts that didn't matter. Too many characters, and not a believable story. I didn't love this series, but I didn't hate it so much that I I shut it off. Did find myself tuning out too much though, and I was not sad that it ended.

Needs no more praise, but I loved it.

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades of Grey to be better than the print version?
No, I'd imagine the read to be better. I didn't like the voice for Christian, and I often got characters confused. Too similar in voices.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades of Grey?
Ummmmmm, they won't print this if I say.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, if I could make it through without mauling my husband.
Any additional comments?
I didn't think I'd like this book. So much hype, and I'm not into this type of genre. But I gave it a listen as a recommendation from a friend. I got hooked. Love the first, and love how it just gets nasty. Gave me many new things to try in real life. Brought me out of a shell I didn't think I was in.

For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

NOT FUNNY. Hurts your ears to listen to her "sing"
Revisado: 09-20-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A not so annoying voice. No singing the chapter headings. Pronouncing words that end in ING correctly. Speech impediment? Not calling her husband an a-hole all the time.
Has Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir) turned you off from other books in this genre?
No. Just Jenny Lawson.
Would you be willing to try another one of Jenny Lawson’s performances?
Not as a audio book. Maybe it's more funny to actually read.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The start of the book is good. I loved her family, and the stories that involved them. Her on her own is just too bat poop crazy to be believable. And I know she warned of that, but it's like she acts crazy just to be crazy. Why the need to treat her husband so terribly? And her voice, of her voice makes me want to rip my ears off.
Any additional comments?
This book starts out ok, but continues to decline with every chapter. I would never put her in the same category as Tina Fey, Tina is funny. Jenny is not. She just seems to try to hard. I wish I could get my credit back, this was an awful listen. Just awful. My ears need to heal before I can attempt to listen to another book. I wish I could pretend this book never happened.

Great little get away
Revisado: 08-29-11
This is a good book, the characters and story line keep you entertained. It throws some twists in, but it is quite predictable. I knew what was going to happen to everyone by the end of the book long before I was through. But it's a fun listen and has some good laughs as well as some good life lessons. Brings attention to some serious issues by the end that I didn't expect.
