Historia
The regiment of draconian engineers featured in The Doom Brigade seek a safe haven for their precious cargo of young draconians. All they have to do is stay alive. Surely that shouldn't be too hard. But Commander Kang puzzles over a sinister mystery. Why are some of his men vanishing? Kang will have to use draconian measures to defeat his foes and save his race. They'd better be enough - the fate of his entire race hangs in the balance.

One of the best Dragonlance books
Revisado: 12-09-24
I have read dozens of dragonlance books as a child and now listening to audible. This is excellent as is the preceding novel. The story of the draconians is surprisingly fun and has a host of great characters. Plot and interactions between characters are well balanced, gritty and often laugh out loud funny. Do not pass this and the preceding book up. Don and Margaret wrote these two with true synergy.

A bold mystery in Sturms past!
Revisado: 06-22-24
This tale is a winding one, full of intersting characters. There is ancient forest magic, sordid revenge and of course oathes made with and without the measure. It can be confusing, some dots are left for us to connect but the story is better for it. Be patient and almost all will be revealed. Narration is excellent, clear and varied voicres and toned and even ladies are well done, just the songs are a tad dry, no fault of the speaker. It is an intersting window into young Sturm's life and choices. Good to see Raistlin and Caramon too. Ive read a ton of Dragonlance and I think its worthy addition to the lore, by Paladine give it a try!

Great tale well told!
Revisado: 06-03-24
An excellent winding tale of murder, mystery, betrayal as we see Tanis grow up with visiting Flint in the elves home. Well written and characters feel solid and familiar. Lore of elves, touching moments and a good dash of humor. Narration is excellent. Ignore the critics, Flint, Tanis, old and young elves and even female parts are well done. Slow in places, a little rushed in the ending but it wraps up solidly. If you love Dragonlance and more of two old favorites this is a real treat!

It's a teenage horror novel
Revisado: 10-12-23
Writing and premise starts out strong, gets very messy following multiple groups of people.
It is fun, silly and narrated satisfyingly if a little cheesily. The ending is a little predictable if you are over 20.
If you like your horror simple and b movie-ish with monsters dig in! :)

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

Excellent reading, Classic story
Revisado: 10-21-22
A classic story of infidelities and soul searching. A little indulgent with the readers time but it is all worth listening to.
Maggie gives an excellent reading, not as many voice variations as I'd like though. She has fantastic timing and superb range and depth of emotion. She has a beautiful rich toned voice throughout.

Often called the greatest novel ever written, War and Peace is at once an epic of the Napoleonic wars, a philosophical study, and a celebration of the Russian spirit. Tolstoy's genius is clearly seen in the multitude of characters in this massive chronicle, all of them fully realized and equally memorable.

Great reading with immense effort and skill applied. Characters all distinct, story is good if uncomfortable to read in parts due to the main character being a complete ass to all his friends! Orwell leads a book shop working poet into darkness and depression and let's h play out his fate. Recommended!

Historia
Orwell's own experiences inspire this semi-autobiographical novel about a man living in Paris in the early 1930s without a penny. The narrator's poverty brings him into contact with strange incidents and characters, which he manages to chronicle with great sensitivity and graphic power. The latter half of the book takes the English narrator to his home city, London, where the world of poverty is different in externals only.

Entertaining Raw Romp through poverty
Revisado: 06-17-22
Narrator is excellent as always. Good pronunciation, fine pacing and he carries Orwell's wit perfectly. Story is clearly honest and intentionally satirical but very heartfelt. I recommend it if like Orwell's postulations and travel diaries.
