Historia
It’s 1855 in Oregon City. Twelve year-old Biddy has survived an intolerable life of indenture by remembering two things: Adults can’t be trusted, and it’s best to be invisible. Due to an early trauma, she’s mute with no memory of her past. The man who holds her contract for indenture has evil plans for her, and he will stop at nothing to ensure his schemes come to fruition. Things look hopeless for Biddy until she meets two school teachers, Brenna and Emily. From that moment on, these three lives become intricately entwined.

Captivating Novel
Revisado: 08-20-22
I truly enjoyed reading as I listened to the audio of this most enjoyable book. It was well-written and kudos to the author for introducing and resolving all the antagonists throughout the novel. One portion I found to be out of place was the section about the two women being in love with each other. I strongly doubt those situations would have taken place in 1855, let alone the open discussions about it. It felt like it was a "soapbox" for our time period, which detracted from the story and should have been left out. Otherwise, the book was captivating and held my interest throughout.

Historia
Katie Macauley gave up her lifelong dream of returning to Ireland in order to make a home for herself in Hope Springs, Wyoming, but her future has never been so uncertain. Katie's heart still remains sharply divided between playful Tavish and steady Joseph, though she feels ill prepared to make a decision. Furthermore, the town is more divided than ever, with both the Irish and the Reds stealing property, burning buildings, and endangering lives.

Enchanting, Most Enjoyable Book
Revisado: 12-06-16
I was thoroughly enchanted by book 2. I was so in suspense about who Katy would marry and in the end I was not disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful romantic book filled with many life lessons in the midst of so much love and turmoil! It is a very appropriate romantic novel that I can recommend to my granddaughters for enjoyable, suspenseful and captivating reading.
