Good clean story. I love that the characters brought God into their decisions.
Revisado: 05-24-24
The only negative to the story is the drawn out storyline and the constant drawn out internal dialogue inside the main characters' heads. Had there been more honest communication between the two main characters, they would have saved themselves a lot of unnecessary heartache before reaching their happy ending. That's why I removed one star.

Historia
Life for Lady Adelaide Bell was easier if she hid in her older sister's shadow - which worked until her sister got married. Even with the pressure of her socially ambitious mother, the last thing she expected was a marriage of convenience to save her previously spotless reputation. Lord Trent Hawthorne couldn't be happier that he is not the duke in the family. He's free to manage his small estate and take his time discovering the life he wants to lead.

A disappointment
Revisado: 05-13-24
It took FOREVER for the two main characters to get anywhere with each other and they were extremely immature for their age. I almost gave up on this audiobook but pressed on and finally finished listening to it. The narrator did an okay job with the female characters but not so much with the male characters - she made Griffith sound like an old man instead of a man in his twenties. You wouldn't be missing much if you skipped this book.

Great Story
Revisado: 02-21-24
I absolutely loved this story! A good, clean mystery with romance weaved in. I really appreciate that there was no foul language or sex - so tired of authors shoving that down our throats. Foul language and sex were not needed to keep readers interested in this well written story. Also, the narrator did a wonderful job! I won't listen to an audiobook where the narrator doesn't do a great job of differentiating the characters' voices. Highly recommend this book.

Great story - entertaining and well written. Narrator did a wonderful job differentiating the characters, although she should work on making some of the male characters sound more masculine. I really appreciate how the author didn't shy away from mentioning God - very refreshing in today's culture. Could use more of that in my opinion. Can't wait to listen to the next installment!

Loved this cozy mystery! Can't wait to listen to the next story in this installment. I also liked the fact that it didn't shy away from Christian characters and included Christianity. For those who don't appreciate that and are bothered by it, there are thousands of other books that will cater to non-Christians, politically correct topics, or atheistic views, so if that's you, you may want to look elsewhere - this story is not for you. As for me, I highly enjoyed the story and the characters and I appreciate the fact that the author is able to weave a great story without having to rely on shoving sex, foul language, and politically correct characters and themes down our throats to keep us entertained. Very refreshing.

I figured out who the murderer was early on in the story. Nevertheless, it was still entertaining and the narrator did a great job in differentiating the characters, including a slight improvement on Jason's American accent. SPOILER ALERT- don't read any further to avoid a spoiler... I also predicted the sad ending of a particular character. Although sad, the particular (and predictable) storyline of this character was getting old in my opinion so I'm not completely & utterly heartbroken, although I would have preferred a different outcome, such as the author could've changed the character's outlook on life and written a different path for them, but it was not to be. Am looking forward to the next installment.

Tired of All This P.C.
Revisado: 08-06-23
I stopped listening when they brought homosexuality into the story and how Jesus never said anything about it so we should embrace it. Did the author forget about Sodom and Gomorrah? The character in her book states that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality in the Bible so therefore it must be okay. There’s a good reason none of the Gospels records Jesus directly mentioning it: in ancient Israel, no one disputed the wrongness of homosexuality. Jesus does, however, say quite clearly that God created man and woman for each other in marriage (Matt. 19:4-5). The only time Jesus mentions sexual activity as part of God’s plan is within the marriage of a man and woman. This is the 3rd book, from 2 authors where homosexual relationships (how we should all glorify it) were shoved down our throats. No thanks. Just another P.C. sell-out. Additionally, it was hard to differentiate between the characters as the narrator sounded almost the same for each character.
