This was a total surprise of how amazing this book is. This Is a first time read for this husband and wife author team, and perhaps that is the secret to why it is so good. This has all the feels of a modern Labyrinth, complete with a goblin king. Slow burn with romance and humor, spicy when appropriate. The imagery is absolutely beautifully written. Like I wanted to step into those pages. I have no idea if the first book had anything to do with this book- I have not listened to it, but plan to because this one was so good. I definitely was not lost in any way despite not reading the first book of the series. The narration is in duet style. Corvin King has the best Goblin King voice. I could listen to him read a dictionary! It is an excellent story with anguish and healing. I highly recommend. As for triggers, the author does a wonderful job presenting them all on her website. This is not dark (other than he is a Gobin that must live in darkness)- it is perfect fantasy romance in my opinion.

I have not read the previous books in this series, but I was not lost at all. Story is well written. Mateo buys Aria in an auction after she is kidnapped. He is protective of his little captive, even when she does some majorly bratty stuff and makes some rather stupid decisions (She is in her 20's and he is in his 30's, so her behavior is typical for her age.) Even though he is morally grey and must appear "tough," he never disrespects or degrades Aria. No cheating on her. The dark part of the romance is his appetite for taking his unspoken feelings out on Aria in the bedroom (and she does not complain one bit about it. Wink* Wink) HEA ending- the narrators did a fantastic job.

First time I have listened to anything by Lucy Smoke. I think I am a fangirl now. Story had me engaged from chapter one. It actually is a bit of a slow burn between the main couple, Dean and Avalon. I like their dynamics. Still a lot of unknowns with the characters, which leaves me totally wanting more. So thankful I have many more books to go through! Avalon is definitely a kick @ss heroine- she does not take sh!t from anyone and no one is going to tell her what to do. I love strong female leads written like this in a dark romance. There is not rolling over for this girl. She can take and dish out. There are a few triggers in the story though- I do not feel anything was very graphic. Childhood neglect and abuse was mentioned. A SA situation occurs to a character, so please consider those if you are sensitive to those issues. The narrators did a fantastic job.

Yep, I have my new favorite IAD heroine. If you are familiar with Kresley Cole's books, you will understand when I say this is old school KC at her finest. Uncle Lothaire is back in all his insane (literally) glory with his new (though reluctant) sidekick (perhaps hostage would be a better word) Baby Bro Kristoff. Mina, the beloved and sheltered (VERY SHELTERED) princess of the Dacians, is mistakenly taken to the "prison world" for Loreans. Yet, she is far from being a damsel in distress. Her uncles and brother have shaped their sheltered princess into a killing machine in combat. I now think this Dacian might actually be the one closest to Lothaire's level of brilliance and strategy. Oh, and let's not forget to mention the King of Sand, Harea, who is determined to claim her, but also wants to kill her brother. Well, I guess all couples have their challenges... THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!!! The series is amazing! My new favorite of the series!!! I cannot say enough about Robert Petkoff. He is one of the best voice actors I have ever listened to. He makes take an already superb storyline to another level.

Fantastic Mafia Morally Grey Anti-Hero Romance

I love a good anti-hero mafia revenge story, and A London Villain delivers. Frankie and Ada meet when Ada is a teen and instantly have a connection. However, both have stories interwoven in the mafia life. Ada is being forced into a marriage with an abusive mafia man while Frankie is thought to have been killed because of his family history and ties to the mafia world. Frankie, however, grows into his own and comes back for Ada 15 years later with a vengeance. This is a dark romance. Frankie is a villian. He is on the wrong side of the law, but has his own moral code that if you are into mafia romance- you understand. A lot of torture and abuse happens to a lot of people in this story. Ada goes through all types of abuse at the hands of her husband. However, Frankie is never abusive towards her. He literally is burning down London to get Ada back. I can say their HEA, and it is even more sweeter because they walk through hell to get there. No cliffhanger.
The Abused are avenged by the end of this book, and you are cheering along with every nail in the Abusers' coffins. Wiltcher tells a really intense, but fantastically written mafia romance. The narrators both did a great job. I would recommend to anyone who like morally grey anti hero mafia stories.

I am doing my re-read in preparation for the new release of the 3rd book in series coming out next week. This story centers on Kythel and Millie. Kythel is the twin brother of Azar from Book 1. You can listen to this as a stand alone, but I do recommend starting with the first book for full effect. Azar does come into this story. Kythel is the peacemaker of his family. He is carrying a burden in his heart from his past that makes he even more rigid and controlled about his responsibilities. Millie, on the other hand, was raised by a single father for the most part, and we are meeting her shortly after his passing. Millie has explored other regions/ planets in the somewhat nomadic life she had with her father. She goes with the flow and does not take anything for granted. She is trying to fulfill the dying wish of her father when she meets Kythel. Kythel recognizes her as his blood mate, but he is suppose to have an arranged marriage to strengthen politically and business related bonds to another influential family. Once again, Zoey's word building skills are amazing. I can see the imagines in my head when listening to her stories. The couples she writes about develop a relationship and mutual respect for each other of the course of the book. The storyline is always intriguing with some drama and angst added in. Her stories have romance to the storylines. I cannot wait for the next story to come to audiobook. The narrators are fantastic- I forgot to mention this is a duet style narration, so Veronica reads not only Millie's POV, but also any female lines spoken while Marcio read's Kythel's POV and any male spoken parts. It really makes the story even more enjoyable.

Zoey Draven is one of my favorite authors, so this was an absolute no brainer buyer, especially when i saw the cover. Alien Vampire with wing- yes, please! I loved the storyline. The eldest daughter Gemma takes on the burdens of her family's debts and finds herself in a marriage contract with a Kylorr, a Warrior Berserker Vampire Alien who is known for their brutality. Azar, is the Kylorr who demands the eldest daughter of the man who killed his beloved aunt. Azar is expecting a spoiled debutante, but instead fines a very compassionate woman who gains the respect and admiration of the household rather quickly. Gemma learns that the brutality Kylorr are known for is in battle or when their family/people are threatened. I always love that Zoey's stories are somewhat of a slow burn with a relationship that develops between the lead characters versus they hop straight into bed. The males are respectful and protective of the females. No cheating or multiple partners in this one. This has all my 5 star points- Romance, interesting plot line with drama, battle scenes (fight with a horrid creature terrorizing a village), strong heroine, growly alpha males hero with fangs, claws, AND wings! Narrators are fantastic!!

I am so thankful this audiobook was available after listening to the first one. The storyline sucks you in, and I had to know what happened to Ky (MMC) and Serylla (MFC). You can read the previous book's review that I gave to find out what this story is about. You need to listen to Book 1 first. This is not a stand alone, but a conclusion to the previous book. I personally love how Kenney wrote these characters, especially Ky. Ky is a dragon that can now shift into a man form because of a magical spell. He is not use to being human, and Kenney, I feel really tapped into how a prince who has spent centuries as a dragon would view the world. Like he did not understand some puns that humans commonly use. The story is well written. The narrators are fabulous. Plenty of spice is the book. I cannot wait for the next one to come on audiobook.

I absolutely loved this audiobook!! I have listened to a few books from this author before this one, and have enjoyed all of them. This one is my favorite so far. It is a dragon shifter romance, but the beginning of the story the MMC is an actual dragon. They can talk (think Dragonheart)! Their female dragons are all killed during a battle through magic, so Ky, the Prince Dragon and leader, instructs his dragons to take the females of the enemy. Through a spell, Ky thought the women would be changed into dragons as their purchase is to be baby makers basically bc of the female dragon lost to them. However, the spell actually turns the dragons into (gorgeous- you know the type- strong jaw, nice cheeks bones) men. Though there is chemistry and attraction between the kidnapped princess and dragon prince, they do develop a relationship that develops into mutual respect and eventually feelings for each other. Lots of spice in this one, but not so much the story is lost. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but no fear the conclusion story is already available on audiobook! (And, yes, it is already downloaded.) The narrators did an amazing job.

I received a code to listen to this story on audiobook through Audible and agreed to leave an honest review. The narrator, Lauren Smith, did a fabulous job narrating. This is a very short book about a wolf and tiger shifter romance. The audiobook is actually less than an hour to complete. I did notice that audible has some of her series in one complete set, which is very nice. In terms of this specific book, a good bit of inner dialogue takes place that felt a bit like rambling at times. I would love for this author to expand upon the story. I think these 2 characters have interesting backgrounds that we are only get a surface view of. I might be missing some information from previous books as this is the 5th story in the series, and I have not listened to the previous stories.
