Absolutely awesome book!
Revisado: 02-02-23
This book is awesome! Character development, pace, plot, perfect use of adjectives. This book is a page turner. I usually listen to Audible while working or doing other activities. In Absence of Fear doesn’t require total attention, In Absence of Fear compels you to listen to every word. Narration was also good.

Nothing says Texas like a drive-thru liquor barn. If you've ever driven through one you know it's floor to ceiling liquor. It's like a museum. It's an awe inspiring collection of scotch, beer, whiskey, brown liquor, blue liquor, creamy white liquor, hard stuff, girly stuff, and mixed drinks. The bartender came to my car with a tray full of Styrofoam cups. Each had a sliver of clear tape across the straw hole. I thought, is he kidding? A piece of tape?

I absolutely loved this book! I think I can relate to her columns because we are about the same age. Imagine writing a column for your local paper about any subject that comes to mind. Chapter 97 is one of my favorites, and includes: “I’m going green, not Ed Bagley green, but a small step in the right direction.” This book is a compilation of 133 columns in 3-5 minute increments.

Historia
As if nearly burning up in a freak accident on her way to Earth wasn't bad enough, Daisy had a whole mess of other trouble on her plate. Big trouble. And she was going to get to the bottom of it if it was the last thing she'd do, which it was starting to look like it very well might be. The thing is, Daisy had a simple rule for space travel. Don't blow up, and so far she'd been managing to abide by that, but mere survival wasn't enough.

Edit: This series has been so fun to listen to! I'm actually on my second listen! Protagonist Daisy is an amazing character. All of the characters are well developed.
I love this! I have finished Book 1. I couldn't stop listening, I usually try to make time for YouTube, but I seriously didn't want to stop listening. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.

I really tried to get to the end. I could not. The stiff narration and jilted cadence, it was just too much. The story seemed like a good one.

Historia
George Denton never believed in the notion of love at first sight, not when his parents regaled him with the story of how they met, not when his elderly grandmother married her bridge partner, not even when the prettiest girl in all the world moved to the picturesque village of Lincoln Point. But from the moment the baby who came to be called Sky let out his first wail inside the house on Archer Avenue, George knew his life would never be the same again.
