Historia
I'm making a fresh start in Lake Tahoe, until my stubborn sister decides to move Mira into our cabin. I'll be damned if I move out on Mira's account. Nothing has changed in the years since I last saw Mira. Her tempting body and smart mouth taunt me daily. The only hope I have at keeping my sanity is the knowledge that Mira is hiding something.

SA warning.
Revisado: 02-14-23
Young dumb love about sums it up. I do find it interesting that sex between teenagers would find it’s way into a book. This series is a little silly in the way of how quickly everything seems to move but it’s a fun little listen to break things up.

Historia
My cheating ex has me swearing off men. Until Lewis comes along, stealing my breath and my good sense. I've never been one to lust after guys. But Lewis is six-and-a-half feet of rugged man, and he's...eye-catching. Sexy. And silently brooding in all the best ways. The more time I spend with him, the naughtier my thoughts are of us together, and he's not helping put a stop to it.

SA WARNING should be included
Revisado: 02-10-23
An S.A. WARNING should come with this book. Seriously. Other than that…. Very much inline with the first book in the series. On the surface, it’s sad to see such weak female characters but ultimately I’m not sure that that is what the author has done here. I see some naive moments sure…. But these are girls that just finished college in what appears to be very safe, sheltered environments. I also see young women trying like hell to find their way in life while also tackling trauma and walking through proving themselves…. to themselves. Some of us have been there. Some of us have not.

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

Great read
Revisado: 02-16-21
I have had this book in my TBR for too long to think back on. Today I finished The Giver of Stars and I deeply regret how long it took me to get started. I loved this book. Jojo Moyes did not disappoint. The giver of stars is a great testament to the time period and to the timeless strength of women and friendship.

Not my style but I love it just the same.
Revisado: 02-11-20
In full disclosure, I must say that I gave Calendar Girl 4 stars because of a personal reason and not as an actual reflection on this book. The “scenes” or sexual content is really not my style. The verbiage used in them is not either. That being said, I love the story line (which obviously isn’t much with out the content to back it up). I am seriously rooting for a certain character and I’ll listen to this entire series just praying it plays out well for that character.

An absolutely incredible story
Revisado: 02-09-20
This Incredible story is an interesting walk through a devastating summer in a small town. The complexity of life and of loss is so intricately woven together in this novel that you lose yourself in the performance and tale. I repeatedly was struck with the familiarity of loss in the experiences of the characters. And I found myself picturing this place as a whole. Such a beautiful and touching novel.

This audible escape was a quick but good listen as I went about my cleaning today. The narration of the sheriff threw me a little through out the story but overall this was a great listen!

Historia
Imagine living with a fear so visceral each day that simply walking down the street draws terror to one’s core. That’s the best case scenario for a woman on the streets of Juárez, Mexico. Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur) delivers a stunning one-woman performance that transports listeners from a New York stage to the treacherous streets of Juárez, Mexico, where thousands of women have been murdered in an ongoing epidemic of violence.

A sad message in a short performance
Revisado: 01-28-20
The performance of The Way She Spoke was a good one but either due to performance or writing was a bit confusing. The underlying message was clear though.

Another recollection of one event through many eyes
Revisado: 01-26-20
I have said this time and time again and here I am about to say it again, we as humans are so complex. One of the interesting complexities of us and life is that we can all walk through the same exact event in time and walk out completely differently. This is an example of just how differently individuals were all impacted by the same thing. It is just amazing really. Unfortunately these accounts are all heartbreaking. And insightful.
I couldn’t help but notice either a similar theme to another great listen, The Dead Drink First. Like that one, I found myself finding parallels to myself or family and the story. It really is interesting the way that trauma ripples out from one moment or person to effect many others, specifically how it drips down from generation to generation. It’s all so complex and yet so simple. I was not expecting at all to relate so much to this heartbreaking chain of events.
