Still the greatest mistery writer of our times

Very few authors today can write a series of books with continuity with each other and at the same time each one can stand on its own without feeling lost. Great plots. Engrossing and entertainig.

Complicated but entretaining

The background created was very detailed. The characters interesting and diverse. Sometimes confusing as to whom they are. All together it is an engrossing book and keeps you in suspense all the way until the end. All the build up and drops the ball at the end. Rushed through that does not compare to all the rest of the material.I do recommend this book, even though Mr. Cussler has better.

Even though it has a slow start, it moves along. All of the sudden it picks up speed and it is not until the end that you stop running. It sometimes is highly descriptive of the scene making it loose it's speed. Too many characters, but necessary in order to unfold the plot. Very captivating and enjoyable "read". I found the ending unfinished as you do not know what the opinions are from the main characters as to the message, making it cofusing. All in all it is an enetertainig book giving you a lesson in History, Archeology and Human Nature, showing all the minuscia of the up-bringing of all humanity and the biased thinking ingrained in our lives. Good Lesson.

When you read the first character created by Mr. Silva, Michael Osborne, I expected a series, but alas, after the second volume, Mr. Silva pulled an ace from his sleeve and has created Gabriel Allon. Great reading, sophisticated prose, meticulous research of locations and events. He created a master restorer, planner and executioner. This is a one nighter, as you can't put this book down. Mr. Silva, please keep them coming.

When I saw it in catalog I noticed that it was the first book for this writer. I always like to read first works and follow through and watch how he develops in every new book. Mr. "Knox" started with a book at a higher level than other writers are now with several books in print, where research was extensive , highly entertaining and engrossing. I think that he may have a hard time trying to follow with another as good as this one. Great characters, prose and able to not get you confused or lost with all the characters, places and cultures. Great work. Thank you
