Historia
There’s chaos in Hollywood at the end of the New Year’s Eve countdown. Working her graveyard shift, LAPD detective Renée Ballard waits out the traditional rain of lead as hundreds of revelers shoot their guns into the air. Only minutes after midnight, Ballard is called to a scene where a hardworking auto shop owner has been fatally hit by a bullet in the middle of a crowded street party.

I liked the story line of this audio. It kept my attention and felt like I was back on the streets in LA.

Historia
On August 13, 1944, Joe Moser set off on his forty-fourth combat mission over occupied France. Soon, he would join almost 170 other Allied airmen as prisoners in Buchenwald, one of the most notorious and deadly of Nazi concentration camps. Tom Clavin's Lightning Down tells this largely untold and riveting true story.

As I listened to Lightning Down I was saddened to learn the depth of cruelty that people will go to. The amazing part was the resiliency of the prisoners at Buchenwald. This book is very worthwhile.

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

I was captured by this book pretty quickly. It spoke to me and made my think about my family growing up. This is one of those books that would benefit everyone. A sub theme for me was " You don't know what you don't know. And how do you learn?" J.D. Vance came out of poverty with no road map. He didn't even know a road-map existed. And he shares his discoveries and things he learned along the way.

Historia
The history and future of our democracy's ultimate sanction, presidential impeachment, and a guide to how it should be used now. To End a Presidency addresses one of today's most urgent questions: when and whether to impeach a president. Laurence Tribe and Joshua Matz provide an authoritative guide to impeachment's past and a bold argument about its proper role today. In an era of expansive presidential power and intense partisanship, we must rethink impeachment for the 21st century.

Tempered my thoughts on impeachment
Revisado: 06-27-18
Tribe’s book clarifies the idea, concept, ups and downs of impeachment. He warns that impeachment might not be such an easy solution and that the downside (backlash) could be as bad or worse than the existing situation. He makes it clear that Trump qualifies for impeachment but left me thinking that Americans might be better served by the ballot than impeachment or the 25th Amendment.
