Historia
Former English professor Cat Latimer is back in Colorado, hosting writers' retreats in the big blue Victorian she's inherited, much to her surprise, from none other than her carousing ex-husband. Now it's an authors' getaway, but Cat won't let anyone get away with murder. The bed-and-breakfast is open for business, and best-selling author Tom Cook is among its first guests. Cat doesn't know why he came all the way from New York, but she's glad to have him among the quirkier - and far less famous - attendees.

Cheeky new character from LC
Revisado: 11-23-24
Fun new book - timeline is a bit off, (five years, several years, they’re all over the place with when they all got their degrees, got married, moved to California ). Also Shauna was a bartender in a gay bar - thought there would be a compelling LGBTQ character…but later on Shauna (not afraid of blood etc) implies she was working at a dangerous biker bar. Not a lot of fighting goes down at gay bars (gay or straight).

Historia
With the August heat strong enough to melt solid chocolate into syrup, Jake and Ellie crave a break from the bakery ovens, despite tourist season promising a sweet payday. But they never envisioned spending the last weeks of summer drifting around Passamaquoddy Bay searching for pirate’s treasure—and a dead body. Sally Coates believes her husband was murdered off the coast, and begs Ellie, a trusted childhood friend, to locate his remains. It’s unusual that a skilled fisherman would vanish along with the gold doubloon he inherited from his grandfather.

Graves - lost her edge
Revisado: 05-06-24
I couldn’t get used to the new narrator. Story made no sense, sharks? An addition on the house ? Missing toddler and they take a champagne picnic? Jake is more focused on sleuthing than on finding her grandkid. I’ll keep buying Grave’s novels but it just feel like this was written by a ghost writer.

Revisado: 03-30-24
Inconsistent story, the narrator has taken to adding “a” to words in an attempt to sound southern / not necessary and it’s distracting. Stop calling Mary Elisabeth my adoptive foster mama!!

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Cute but mistakes are made!
Revisado: 02-04-23
As with all other TK books, the editor let significant mistakes get through. Beyond the glitches in the audio, are we to believe that the island is so close that she can see the boardwalk, a killer, etc. but she never heard or saw a resort (with pool, pool bar, guest rooms etc in previous books the ride was quite a distance away but all of a sudden it is so close she can see the entire boardwalk. People etc? Early on Chrissie tells her that she (Roxy) knows the investor…but she keeps wondering who it is (total strangers). Again - cute, enjoyable, quick listen, but you have to accept mistakes in continuity

Cute book - dreadful audio
Revisado: 12-18-22
Cute book, especially if you’re familiar with the camper series. But every chapter contains at least one if not two repeat sentence….”I assured both of them….I assured both of them”. Very annoying. And maybe I’m just used to the v/o work in other Kappes novels - but Rhett’s voice, Dotty’s and others are really dreadful.
