I have so many mixed feelings about this book. First off, the narrators did a fantastic job. Teddy Hamilton once again played his role well, and this was my first experience listening to June deBroahoe, who also impressed me with her performance. Their combined efforts really brought the story to life.

Now, onto the content. While I love a good bully romance, I found the female main character’s personality to be quite annoying and conflicting. It’s great to see a strong-willed female character who fights back, but at times, she didn’t fully embody that strength. I struggled with how quickly her resolve crumbled and how she seemed to bow down. I understand that she had never felt loved in a romantic sense, largely due to the male main character scaring everyone away, but it was frustrating to see her develop such deep feelings even though he humiliates her.

What bothered me even more was how she didn’t push him to clear up any misunderstandings; instead, he would just "smex" those feelings out of her. While she felt humiliated and angry, the narrative almost trivialized those emotions, suggesting that physical intimacy could resolve everything.

On a different note, her relationship with her brother was a highlight in the story, illustrating that love can sometimes mean making difficult choices. This part of her life added warmth and complexity to her character and provided a counterbalance to her romantic struggles. Additionally, she finds herself targeted by an enemy of the male character, which only intensifies her struggles. I appreciated her fighting spirit when she stood up to this enemy, showcasing her resilience. However, with a strong personality, it was disheartening to see her exhibit moments of weakness.

Wow, what a wild ride this story turned out to be! From the get-go, I was captivated by the rich tapestry of intriguing characters and both classic and new mythical creatures. If you’re someone who thrives on a bit of spice in your stories, then buckle up! This audiobook delivers a smorgasbord of spicy moments, with vampires, witches, and tantalizing scenes that embrace equal opportunity in the romance department—including some steamy mmfm action! But fair warning: if random spicy scenes aren't your cup of tea, you might want to steer clear.

Now, let’s talk about the protagonist’s journey. Some listeners were put off by how quickly she forgave her bullies. However, when you dig deeper, it makes sense—she wasn’t bullied for long, and their actions weren’t the worst. Plus, let’s face it; she’s a lonely soul craving connection. Her vulnerability adds layers to her character, even if it can be frustrating at times.

The narrators were absolutely fantastic! I particularly loved the professor’s voice 😏. The chemistry between all the narrators pulled me right into their world, making the experience truly immersive.

However, not everything sparked joy in this tale. One major annoyance was the repetitive poor decision-making of the main character. Initially, I thought it would lead to some compelling character development, but alas, that wasn’t the case. It became increasingly tiresome to watch her make foolish choices, especially considering her lack of backbone. There’s a particularly exasperating scene where she knows she should stay home to avoid danger but still chooses to venture out to save her friends despite being aware of her own powerlessness. It’s hard not to roll your eyes!

While some of her mistakes stemmed from the secrets kept from her, it doesn’t excuse the overall sense of frustration. At times, it felt like she should have been labeled an “emotional” rather than an “elemental,” given how often she cried and stumbled over her words. And honestly, I thought her old-school bully would play a more prominent role—exploring the depths of their animosity could have added some much-needed intrigue. After all, obsessing over a stolen role in a school play seems a bit far-fetched, don’t you think?

Lastly, I wish there had been some content warnings regarding the mmfm elements. The surprise of those steamy scenes caught me off guard, and while I continued listening, I know not everyone would be comfortable with that. It’d be great to have a heads-up before diving in!

In summary, this audiobook is a rollercoaster of emotions, spice, and drama—perfect for those who love an indulgent escape. Just be prepared for some head-scratching decisions and a little bit of unexpected content!

I listened to this book wanting something similar to Ice planet Barbarians but duet style. The only similarity this book has was they had aliens in it. The beginning was sooo boring I could not get into it. But once things started taking off in their relationship it was better and not just because the spicy parts either. The story itself started to develop. This book is duet narration which gave it a little bump on how I scored. Without it this would be a 2.5 or 3

Surprisingly a good dual

I recently finished an audiobook that truly stood out, earning a solid 4.5 stars from me, but I felt compelled to rate it a full 5. This was my first experience with a dual audio format, and it exceeded my expectations in ways I didn't anticipate.

The dual narration felt like a beautifully orchestrated duet. While it was clear there were two separate narrators, their performances complemented each other perfectly, enhancing the dynamics of the story. It created an engaging back-and-forth that allowed me to fully appreciate the differing perspectives of the characters. The way they interacted felt organic, making it easy to dive into the emotional depths of their experiences.

The spice levels in this story were just right—think a tantalizing 🌶️🌶️.5 chilies. The chemistry between the characters was palpable, especially since one character's need for the other was tied to a crucial aspect of their species' survival. This added depth to their connection and made their interactions even more engaging.

Overall, this audiobook is a hidden gem that I’m thrilled to have discovered. If you're looking for an engaging story with a unique format and just the right amount of spice, I highly recommend giving it a listen!

Wow, I loved this story! The obsessive, possessive male main character (MMC) really made it memorable. There's something irresistible about a character willing to give his life and burn the world for his love. Initially, I found myself struggling to get into the book; it felt a bit slow and I wasn't sure where the story was headed. However, once it picked up, I was completely hooked. The spice level is around 🌶️🌶️—not overly spicy, but definitely present. There were also a few tear-jerking moments that added depth to the narrative. My only hesitation in giving this a full five stars was due to the female lead. At times, she was frustratingly smart yet oblivious, which left me wondering how she could figure out complex problems but was clueless about her own bargain. This inconsistency slightly detracted from my overall enjoyment. It's also worth noting that this book ends on a cliffhanger, so be prepared for that! Lastly, the narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. This was my first experience with their work, and it certainly won't be my last. Overall, a gripping tale that kept me engaged, with a few quirks that made it all the more interesting! Also this is a duet narration.

Annoying FMC

I recently finished this book, and I have to say, my experience was quite a rollercoaster. The main female character (FMC) was incredibly difficult to endure; her personality was so annoying that it overshadowed much of the story. Even the male main character (MMC) seemed to struggle with his feelings for her, being drawn in mostly by her looks rather than any redeeming qualities. It felt like she annoyed herself, especially in the beginning, which made it hard to connect with her. However, there were a few redeeming traits, such as her love for cats and her loyalty as a friend. These aspects provided a glimmer of hope amidst the frustration. On a brighter note, the female narrator truly excelled in her role. Her fast-paced storytelling kept me engaged and made the overall reading experience more enjoyable, despite my issues with the FMC. If you can overlook an irritating protagonist, the narration alone might make this book worth a try.

A Sweaty Disappointment

I recently listened to the audiobook, and I have to say, it left me feeling quite underwhelmed. The main character's constant sweating over every little thing became more of a distraction than a relatable quirk. From planning her wedding to keeping secrets and even catching glimpses of her husband in the hot tub, it felt like her anxiety overshadowed any romantic elements the story might have had.

Unfortunately, by the halfway point, I found myself more annoyed than engaged, as she whined her way through every situation. I understood however when she was upset about her boss. The repetition of her nervous sweating became tedious, making it hard to connect with her character.

The narrator's delivery didn't help either; it felt more like a lecture than an immersive storytelling experience. There was so much potential in the plot, but ultimately, it just flopped for me. If you're looking for a romance filled with genuine emotion, you might want to look elsewhere.

Female narrator sounds and feels like she is reading to me instead of it feeling like hearing a story. It’s almost like I am in school except for the steamy parts. I loved the story up until the fml starts making irritating choices, she feels more like a caricature than a well-rounded character.

Stupid female lead

*The female lead, often comes across as annoying and lacks depth, particularly in her decision-making. Her willingness to cave to temptation (for d**k) for a relationship without considering the potential consequences for her family feels irresponsible. It would have been more engaging if she had first resolved the misunderstandings before succumbing to the allure of romance.

On the other hand, the male lead's character is compelling and intense, a love that borders on obsession and possessiveness. (Love the books with this type of male lead lol) I want to hear more stories of that type of love, obsession and possessiveness. Burn the world for your love.

The conclusion wraps up neatly, leaving all parties satisfied, which is a relief. However, the overall experience warrants 2.75 or 3 out of 5 for me. The spice throughout the narrative is well-executed, balancing intensity and timing, making it enjoyable despite its flaws.

Additionally, the narrators did an exceptional job bringing the characters to life with their distinct voices and interpretations. I would gladly listen to them again in future audiobooks. Overall, "Sasha" has its highs and lows, but the captivating elements of obsession and passion make it a worthy read for those who enjoy that genre.
