I've been a listener of MM since the beginning. I was intrigued by the Murdaugh story and MM seemed to have some knowledge of the family and all the goings on. I know she took a lot of bashing because of her voice/delivery etc...(by the way it's pronounced 'etcetera' not excetera as Mandy pronounces it) I wasn't so turned off by her voice, mispronunciation yes, voice...it was ok. Back in the MMP days it was her constant whining that got me, and bashing of anybody else that was covering 'her' story. How she was abused by folks wanting to steal her thunder, blah blah blah...Then the biggest crime in journalism, making yourself part of the story. It was never ending and as time went on she didn't even pretend to be an unbiased journalist. Her constant attack of Harpoot. and Griffin is tiresome, how many times can you use the term good ol' boy in a sentence?? Now that she's changed the name to True sunlight, the only good thing is we don't have to hear how the show is produced by her fiancé (thank god he finally married her) anymore. I tried to give it a listen today, I really tried, but first it was 3 minutes of commercials, then I had to listen to her plug her new book and some talk she's giving and if you buy her book you get some special deal on the podcast...little more self promotion, finally a couple minutes of content, spent of course bashing Harpoot. good gawd...then a commercial plugging some acne treatment she uses before all her upcoming public appearances, you'd think she was Meagan Markle! I had to bail after the zit spot...Don't waste your time on this one folks, lots of other podcasts out there with much better content.

I'm a golfer and a golf fan, I've been following the Phil Mickelson saga for a while now. I think most of us were blown away by the comments Phil made to Shipnuck regarding the Saudi's and LIV golf, his trashing of the PGA, (then Greg Norman said hold my beer) then the later revelation of his massive 40+ million gambling debts. I really thought this book would be a total hit piece on Phil, but was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't. I thought it was a pretty fair accounting of Phil. Not a god or a monster, just a man. A very successful athlete but a somewhat flawed individual. No surprise as most of your high profile athletes seem to have narcissistic tendencies, probably part of the reason they've achieved the success they have.

As to the author reading his own work, I don't think he was that bad, not great, but not as horrible as some are making out. I thought he did a pretty good job, so don't let that dissuade you from enjoying the listen. I actually paid for the book, no credit, and was not disappointed, the husband ordered on Kindle and he is enjoying the read as well.

Although this book wasn't a hit piece I don't think the next book coming out, by Billy Walters, will be so kind.
