After the Cradle series I struggled to find something to fill the empty space left when it ended. This is a different but equally satisfying story by the same author and narrator.

After finishing The Cradle series I was sure that I wanted more of Will's stories in my life. I dabbled a bit with a couple of the other series but didn't become engrossed like I had been with Cradle. Well, I'm engrossed again. This series has been a fun romp and I look forward to seeing it to the end.

I found it easier to listen to somewhat accelerated in order to make the narrator's somewhat stilted and slow delivery easier to listen to. The information is delivered in such a way that it should be accessible to anyone.

While I admit I skipped past most of the information about character types that weren't currently relevant to me, I will definitely listen to them later to benefit from that knowledge as well. I got quite a bit accomplished while listening, and understanding my style helps me to be more accepting of my idiosyncrasies.

I didn't know what to expect

I didn't know what to expect, and I nearly didn't make it through the introduction. Ultimately, I'm very glad I stayed the course and listened intently. I highly recommend this book and enjoyed being able to listen to it and followed along with a Kindle copy.

A remarkable end to an amazing series

Endings are so difficult. I find myself mourning the loss of the connection to the characters I have come to know and love in Cradle and beyond. I have read thousands of books in my lifetime and listened to hundreds of audiobooks. This series ranks among my all-time favorites.

I devoured the first seven audio books in short order and the next two within a few days of starting them, once they were released.

I'm discovering that I'm not nearly as patient as I like to think I am ... C'mon Will! Please don't make me wait too long for the next one!

Good Science Fiction

Mixed feelings

One man's experience.

Not what everyone can relate to.

The author shares his experience, which is fine for him and those who can relate. It feels like he writes hoping that he'll catch the current zeitgeist and make money. Perhaps that's OK, but I felt my time would have been better utilized listening to a lot of other things.
