Historia
If, like Kane, you're a Denied Access Area spy for the CIA, then boundaries have no meaning. Your function is to go in, do whatever is required, and get out again - by whatever means necessary. You know when to run, when to hide - and when to shoot. But some places don't play by the rules. Some places are too dangerous, even for a man of Kane's experience. The badlands where the borders of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan meet are such a place - a place where violence is the only way to survive.

What on earth happened to Terry?
Revisado: 07-13-24
The first three part of the book is as fantastic as the I am Pilgrim was. The same style and details that kept you from turning the device off. But then something happened in part 4 that describes why the book was several years delayed. It is absolute crap and should not have passed the editors examination. Wind passed and pick up again for the last two hours. You will not have missed anything. On the contrary it makes the story better without the ridiculous science fiction time travel mumbo jumbo that I had to suffer through.
A clear five turned into a three and then I am quite forgiving...

Downward spiral
Revisado: 06-23-24
While this was a great deal better than the precious title, it is evident that the Gray man is on a downward spiral as the last couple of titles never should have been published at all. it is a saying that one should finish at the pinnacle. Perhaps Greaney was never told, but either way he clearly missed the opportunity. Will certainly await reviews before purchasing the next title

Loooooong.
But so well written and so well read that I couldn't stop listening. I constantly wondered if this wasn't a documentary after all.
And the not so well hidden reference to a certain real estate mogul and president joke made me both fear and hope it was true...

Could have been good
Revisado: 08-10-21
The plot was quite promising and could have led to a great book. Unfortunately it's too rush and most of the events are ridiculously unrealistic. Every time Zero just happen to fall on to the bad guys.

Narration killed an otherwise okish story
Revisado: 07-30-21
The story was quite promising but with way too many references to the past that was never explained or elaborated. Quite annoying.
But way more annoying was the narration. It is not unreasonable to expect that some preparation was made before recording, like learning how to pronounce places and names. Especially when there are attempts made to use dialects.
e.g. Leicester Square and Leicester Street are not pronounced "Lai chester" it's pronounced "Lesta", Calais isn't pronounced "Kalais", but "Kalae" and Bruges is pronounced "Brouche". It wouldn't take many seconds of preparation to understand and learn.
Hearingd obvious and avoidable errors like this took away my attention from the story. Was more focused on spotting the next error.
Should probably have read the book instead. Maybe that would have made me keep it. Now it is a return.

Jack Carr is at the top of the genre
Revisado: 05-18-20
Not sure how much help Carr has used but his trilogy is at the top of the genre. Action packed, detailed, great portraits, separate stories that melt together and even though it is obvious to where the main story will lead it still bring a few surprises. Ending with a cliffhanger. Can't wait for the next.

Finally he wrote it... but he's shouldn't have
Revisado: 04-25-20
Again Jay gives an outstanding performance and not only lifts the story but caries it all the way. Without Jay am not sure I had managed through the first chapters. So finally Mark (or his crew?) wrote a mainstream story that everyone knows how it both will play and how it will end. Only it took 16 hrs to tell it. Gone were all the shady side stories, the intrigues and the encyclopedic facts that have made, more or less, all other books he has written both entertaining and learning. Of course the book has all the pace, action and beyond realistic survival skills we have gotten used to.
Instead of another mass-produced factory crap written only for the money (like Grishams and Baldacci) I sincerely hope Mark now takes some time off to get inspired in producing a really well researched and enjoyable story, like the ones he made before. Perhaps read some of the stories by Forsyth, Jason Mathews or Terry Hayes.
And I haven't even commented on the first person approach taken. Sincerely hope it was for the the very last time Mark did that.
Never thought I would return a Mark Greaney, but this one, despite a topic that is worth writing about, goes directly back to Audible.

A <REDACTED> story
Revisado: 02-05-20
I must admit I have <REDACTED> this Book.
I especially enjoyed the <REDACTED> as well as the <REDACTED>.
While it can be read stand alone I highly recommend redaers to first read "The Terminal List" as it gives the necessary background to the characters and the plot.
The next book in the series is out soon and I hope Jack have understood the issue with <REDACTED> so readers/listeners can enjoy a great story even more.

Watch out Gray Man
Revisado: 09-09-19
Now this is what I call a debut.
Despite the fact that the story is a bit far fetched (to say the least) it was well told, entertaining and gripping.
The key character is a worthy contestant to the Gray Man and I can't wait for the next incredible story he has to take on.

A new definition of unabridged ...
Revisado: 08-27-19
Am very puzzled. Quite satisfied and surprisingly disappointed at the same time.
As always Scott delivers and Mike most definitely has picked up from where Greeney left. A good intro with some interesting characters introduced made the entire story promising and it was hard to pause listening. And then when I expected the story's different angles to twist and spin it all abruptly ended!
Why? Did Mike's laptop run out of battery while he was typing? Is there a part two I never got? Or is this an abridged version...?
Seriously I want half my money back.
