Walt needs to go back to where he started!
Revisado: 09-25-18
When I was getting ready to write this review and looked to see what others thought, I was surprised to see that may felt the same way I did. Probably my least favorite book of the series. The series has been so dark lately and without the other 'regular' characters to add a little levity, it was a downer! Regardless, I was hooked and could not put it down.
This is one of my favorite series. I love the beauty I find in Craig Johnson's writing. The characters are written so well. I hope that this story arc is finished and we can go back to the old Walt - a little humor, a lot of compassion, wisdom beyond his years, and my knight in shinning armor!

It has been a great ride. My favorite series. Wow, what it says for the author that I will actually mourn the loss of these characters! I will see them around somewhere I am sure...

I was Blown Away, Soooo Good!
Revisado: 08-13-18
I don't know what I expected, but it was not this. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could like Hugh, but the authors are so good at their craft, that you can't help but to grow to love all these new characters.
New narrator, Steve West, so a little funny to hear characters that we are already so familiar with sounding so different, but he did a great job.
I have nothing but positive things to say about this book. Can not wait until the second book in the Iron Covenant comes out.

SO UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! Beast IS best Hunter!!!
Revisado: 06-18-18
Wow, when I finished with the story I sat back and thought of this book, the series, Jane and how well everything came together. The longer I thought about it, the more I couldn't wait to go back and read the whole series over again.
The book was a quick conclusion of everything leading up to this point, but in retrospect it was probably the best way to do it. Well written, believable, emotional, such a great story, I could go on and on. Can not wait until the next book
If you have not read the Jane Yellowrock series, this is not the book to start at. Go back to the beginning and read them in order.

Historia
Lucas Davenport had crossed paths with her before. A rich psychopath, Taryn Grant had run successfully for the US Senate, where Lucas had predicted she'd fit right in. He was also convinced that she'd been responsible for three murders, though he'd never been able to prove it. Once a psychopath had gotten that kind of rush, though, he or she often needed another fix, so he figured he might be seeing her again. He was right.

Really Enjoyed - Still a Great Series!
Revisado: 05-01-18
I read a couple reviews the morning this book came out, and people were giving three stars, etc., so I went into the book preparing myself to be disappointed. Not so! I did not want to quit listening, I wanted to know what happened next, and was sad when it was over. What more can you ask for in a book?
I like the team that Lucas, Rae and Bob make up. Liked everything about the book. LOove Richard Ferrone. Now the wait for the next one...

Historia
Renée Ballard works the night shift in Hollywood, beginning many investigations but finishing none, as each morning she turns her cases over to day shift detectives. A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. But one night she catches two cases she doesn't want to part with: the brutal beating of a prostitute left for dead in a parking lot and the killing of a young woman in a nightclub shooting. Ballard is determined not to give up at dawn.

Narration not good, but story was good.
Revisado: 08-24-17
Big fan of Michel Connelly, and was very excited to see a new series. The narrator's delivery, however, made the character very unlikable. Within three chapters I had enough of Detective Renee Ballard, she came across as gruff, rude and acted like the whole world did her wrong. It got old very fast! I quit reading in chapter six, but went back and finished the book because I wanted to know what happened, as the story itself was quite good.
I have to agree with others that the narrator did not bring anything to this book. Instead of writing the main character was strong, flawed, intelligent - which she was, I just want to complain how much the clipped, fast dialogue irritated me.
I plan on reading the book myself, so I can form a better opinion of the main character before the next book in the series is published.

Love the series!
Revisado: 07-28-17
I have always enjoyed the Iron Druid series. This book was a compilation of short stories told from different characters point of view. While it wasn't my favorite in the series, it is still a good read. Nice to get some background information on Atticus.
Very sad to hear that there is only one book left in the series... hope this is not true, I will be SO SAD!!!
Like always Luke Daniels did an outstanding job as narrator. He is definitely one of my favorites. He could read the label on a soup can and make it interesting.

Must read, great series!
Revisado: 06-08-17
I accidentally read this, the 2nd book in the series first. I didn't even realize this until I went looking for the next book in the series. So it can stand on its own, but I like to read a series in order.
I love this strange little town with strange characters and strange happenings. Very well written. Charlaine Harris did a great job developing the characters and the world they live in. A town full of the things that slink around in the night should be scary, but they are lovable, relatable, funny, and engrossing. A story written to be entertaining.
Wanted to listen to the story straight through and was sad when it ended.

I gave up, could not read this book!
Revisado: 06-08-17
The book started off great, then within a few chapters it was just dialogue between 2 characters. Unbelievable dialogue that just went on and on and on. Chapter after chapter.
The dialogue started at the beginning of Chapter 5 and was still going on in Chapter 14 when I gave up on it.
