Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Totally worth it!
Revisado: 03-25-18
If you love video games/pop culture, this book is for you! Has a young adult feel in some ways, but I (39 year old woman) found myself so excited the whole way through! The concept is great, and seems like a reality that could possibly come to be in 40-50 years. If you like fantasy books based in some sort of reality, you will love this. Was told about it a long time ago, but just got around to listening, and so glad I did, especially as the movie comes out next week! Can’t wait to put visuals to my imagination from listening, and just hope it lives up to what was in my head, especially as it relates to the contest! Wil Wheaton as the narrator was great!

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Revisado: 12-09-17
Loved the Mistborn series, so I was excited to start this one, and I love love love this book! Sanderson has with this series, as with Mistborn series, created a whole world which is utterly unique, thoroughly explored and completely engaging! Narration is perfect! Only thing with Kate's narration is that for 42 hours of the book, Saddeus' (spelling?) pronunciation by Michael Kramer, was one way and she narrated his name completely different which was distracting but other than that, they were both great! Can't wait to start book two!

Historia
Live fast, fight hard and if you have to die then take as many of your enemies with you as you can. That is the Amazon credo and it was one Samia lived and died by. Now in contemporary New Orleans, the immortal Amazon warrior is about to learn that there's a worse evil coming to slaughter mankind than she's ever faced before. Shapeshifter Dev Peltier has stood guard at the front of Sanctuary for almost two hundred years and in that time, he's seen it all. Or so he thought. Now their enemies have discovered a new source of power- one that makes a mockery of anything faced to date.

Love the story of Dev, a favorite of mine among the Sanctuary crew, because for me, this one was as much about him as it was Sam.

Great start to a great subplot
Revisado: 02-04-15
Nick's story is a very cool one, albeit very much more YA than the rest of the dark Hunter series but in a way, a fun reprieve from all the deep, dark stuff of the other books. It's also one of the only storylines that has not yet been resolved, unlike most of the books in the DH series-which tend to wrap up nicely by the end of every book.

Good but a little repetitive.
Revisado: 01-14-15
I love the whole Dark-Hunter/Dream Hunter series, but this may be one that is a little weak for me, only in that it is very similar to the story of Astrid and Zarick. Between the Dream Hunter and the snowstorm, etc., it just seemed a little repetitive. Also, the idea that the main male hero is an actor is a little strange for the series. There's an element of despair and hopelessness that encompasses all of the heroines and heroes of the stories in general, and for the despair brought by the actions of Aidan's brother and others-caused by jealousy over a successful actor seems a little far-fetched. But don't let that sway you from listening! Still a good book and shows little elements relating to the Dream Hunters and their interactions that may prove to flesh out their storyline overall.

Historia
In the ethereal world of dreams, there are champions who fight to protect the dreamer and there are demons who prey on them. In Sherrilyn Kenyon's The Dream-Hunter, Arik is such a predator. Condemned by the gods to live eternity without emotions, Arik can only feel when he's in the dreams of others. For thousands of years, he's drifted through the human unconscious, searching for sensation. Now he's finally found a dreamer whose vivid mind can fill his emptiness.

Revisado: 01-04-15
Dream Hunter and the subsequent Dream Hunter novels are an interesting take for the Dark Hunter series. It veers off the path from the normal Damon/Were Hunter/Dark Hunter/gods stuff and gives a different perspective of how the worlds fit together, but it references parts to the overall storyline that are important. Fred Berman is awesome per usual! He brings the stories alive!
