Historia
Marnie Logan often feels like she's being watched: A warm breath on the back of her neck, or a shadow in the corner of her eye that vanishes when she turns her head. She has reason to be frightened. Her husband Daniel has inexplicably vanished, and the police have no leads in the case. Without proof of death or evidence of foul play, she can't access his bank accounts or his life insurance. Depressed and increasingly desperate, she seeks the help of clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin.

This is the first book I've read by this author - just finished a few minutes ago and I am downloading another of his books as I type this. Had me in suspense until the very end and I don't think there was any "advance guessing" that you could do and be correct. Really liked the narration, he is a good story teller but not one that puts you to sleep. Great Book!

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I liked the characters in this book and it seemed okay for the first half. At some point this book went berserk and became WAY too Sci Fi for my taste. Just not my cup of tea and gave up somewhere in the second half.

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

I read Gone Girl quite some time ago and really enjoyed it. I seem to have had a few not so great book choices lately so thought I'd go back and search books by authors I have liked. This book did not disappoint! WOW! Everything about the book is perfect - even though early on I knew "who'd done it" - you were never 100% sure and when all the details come together it was amazing. Highly recommend this and I will be reading Dark Places in the near future!

I have about 2 hours left and I don't want this book to end! I have no idea what the ending will be - but I decided to write this review because this is the best book I've listened to in ages .... already looking to see what else the author has written! It's been a long time since I was this "into" a book!
Do yourself a favor & spend the credit - you won't regret it!

Historia
> The Chaperone is a captivating novel about the woman who chaperoned an irreverent Louise Brooks to New York City in 1922, and the summer that would change them both. Only a few years before becoming a famous actress and an icon for her generation, a 15-year-old Louise Brooks leaves Wichita to make it big in New York. Much to her annoyance, she is accompanied by a thirty-six-year-old chaperone who is neither mother nor friend. Cora Carlisle is a complicated but traditional woman with her own reasons for making the trip.

The best part of this book was the narration by Elizabeth McGovern. Story was just "okay" but Elizabeth was why I finished the book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: There’s no gentle way to put this – Frank McCourt’s performance of Angela’s Ashes is just better than the Pulitzer Prize-winning book. Frank McCourt shares his sometimes heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking story of growing up poor, Irish, and Catholic in the Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela's Ashes.

Fabulous Book!
Revisado: 01-02-13
I can't believe I waited so long to read this book but it was worth the wait. The story brings out so many emotions, it makes you sad then angry, and then you might smile for a moment. I fell in love with Frank and his life and immediately rented the movie but found it to be a fraction of the book. After I finished Angela's Ashes I read it again, making sure I didn't miss anything and then went on to read his next book, 'Tis.
What struck me most about Frank's life is that it was only about 80 years ago when he was born and that there was such poverty in a civilized country. This book makes you feel grateful for so many things.
This book moved me and made me thankful. I thought Frank was perfect as the narrator and couldn't imagine anyone else telling this story. *****

Told through the voice of a woman with a powerful intellect that is maddeningly slipping away, Turn of Mind is not only a suspenseful psychological thriller that pulses with intensity but also a brilliant portrayal of the fragility of consciousness and memory, and of a mind finally turning on itself.

This book is super duper long ...... which for me, is a huge plus with an audio book. Once you get going you never want this book to end! This is a lovely book that takes you back in time and is wonderfully written and red. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have now read all of Kate Morton's books and I'm hungry for more!
