Historia
Jameela Pervaiz wants to be an award-winning journalist like her late grandfather and is thrilled to be selected as feature editor of her school newspaper, a huge honor for a seventh-grader. Unfortunately, the editor in chief keeps shooting down her article ideas. When she’s assigned to write about the new boy in school, whom everyone is buzzing about because of his British accent, Jameela wonders how she’ll make his story gripping enough to enter into a national media contest. Then Jameela, along with her three sisters, is devastated when her father accepts a job offer overseas.

The connections I made
Revisado: 04-06-25
I myself have three sisters and multiple times in the book, the main character, Jameela, feels these emotions and says these things that I feel like all the time but have never heard someone say before in a book! It’s really good, it’s the perfect book to read while relaxing in the summer, and I like how the Narrator had really good accents, especially for Ali. This book was great, and made me feel relaxed, yet still had me on pins and needles to see what would happen next in their family or at school!😋🙂😊

How I could t put the book down, and he pronunciation of names.🥴🥴🥴
Revisado: 02-25-25
The Harry Potter books are so good, I’ve been able to read the first books in only two days! The only thing I’m slightly bothered by is the performance. Like in a recent review I saw, I agree that it is Voldemort, not Voldemore! Some parts have bothered me because he pronounced some names differently (yes I understand he is British((and it’s pretty clear)). Other than that, I enjoy J.K. Rowling’s books very much! (I also really liked how the narrator talks like Hagrid!)😊🥴

The messages
Revisado: 02-22-25
The message of this book I knew was true, but like a lot of things in the world, we don’t really think about them or even realise they’re there. Some problems are hard to calculate, is one main message I caught here, and this book helps me realise that often in math problems, there’s one variable you have to figure out, but most of the time, you have other variables and formulas to help you, but sometimes in this world, you don’t have all the variables and formulas of how to fix your problem. While yes they are our problems that we should fix or try to fix, another message or theme I caught in this book is that it’s ok to ask for help. One deeper theme I also could see that stuck out to me is that Lucy wasn’t just what she was good at. She wasn’t just numbers and algebraic equations. Some people looked at her that way, only really noticed her traits. But people are more than what you just see. The pages of an aren’t ALWAYS what the cover says it is, (though sometimes they are). So Lucy wasn’t just her traits, but also who she wanted to be and what her feelings made her. This book is a heart touching book that I will always remember because it teaches lessons that don’t get taught enough. Every girl her age, and even people of a different gender and age of Lucy, will surely enjoy this book and use it to give them courage and strength to push through middle school, life, and anything similar and even not similar to her situation. I hope many have and many will read this book and find what they are looking for.

The way she saw herself, to the way she was.
Revisado: 02-10-25
Melanie had an idea of who she was and that was an ordinary weird person without a mother but this book shows the real person Melanie is. Melanie is a strong girl who sees the world in different amazing perspectives and reminds me of Anne from Anne of Green Gables by the way she looks at the world. She has thoughts that a normal girl her age wouldn’t think and has a feeling of imagination that follows and spreads to everyone everywhere she goes. Melanie stands out in her own extraordinary way, with friends or without, Peter Pan or not, Melanie knows how to believe.

Historia
For nearly a century, Victorian London relied on “climbing boys” - orphans owned by chimney sweeps - to clean flues and protect homes from fire. The work was hard, thankless, and brutally dangerous. Eleven-year-old Nan Sparrow is quite possibly the best climber who ever lived - and a girl. But when Nan gets stuck in a deadly chimney fire, she fears her time has come. Instead, she wakes to find herself in an abandoned attic. And she is not alone. Huddled in the corner is a mysterious creature - a golem - made from ash and coal. This is the creature that saved her from the fire.

The Imagination and plot twists
Revisado: 01-28-25
Bookwanderers needed a LOT of imagination to make, and the book ends leaving the audience on a satisfied, comfortable, yet cliff hanging ending that makes you feel happy and ready to read the next book! One part when Matilda and Oskar were going to the under library, the book kind of lost me and almost convinced me to give up, but I pushed on and I’m SUPER happy I did because and adventure in bookwanderers is always right around the corner! I’m excited to read the next book and see what adventures Tilly experiences next!

Historia
In sixth grade, bad things can happen to good kids. Bullies will find your weakness and jump on it. Teachers will say you did something wrong when really you didn't mean to do anything wrong. The kids who joke the loudest can drown out the quieter, nicer kids. Maverick wants to change all that.

The way just words made me cry!
Revisado: 08-05-24
I used this book for a summer project for school and I had already read a different book but decided that it didn’t have any sentences that stood out or made me think, “ Hmm I should apply that sentence to my life.” Like when Mr Overbye’s sign said “ Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” When I write my one pager I’ll remember how it made me cry and how I can make differences by showing love and kindness to those who need it most. Great book!❤️

I liked the story line, but I felt like Janner shouldn’t have died in the end. But other than that, it was really good! Btw, imma BIG fan of Andrew Peterson! I was at the concert at the Ryman theater in Nashville December 2023!!!😆
