Historia
The culture of “safety” and its intolerance of opposing viewpoints has left many young people anxious and unprepared for adult life. Lukianoff and Haidt offer a comprehensive set of reforms that will strengthen young people and institutions, allowing us all to reap the benefits of diversity, including viewpoint diversity. This is a book for anyone who is confused by what’s happening on college campuses today, or has children, or is concerned about the growing inability of Americans to live and work and cooperate across party lines.

Historia
It is autumn 1981 when inconceivable horror comes to Blackeberg, a suburb in Sweden. The body of a teenager is found, emptied of blood, the murder rumored to be part of a ritual killing. Twelve-year-old Oskar is personally hoping that revenge has come at long last—revenge for the bullying he endures at school, day after day. But the murder is not the most important thing on his mind. A new girl has moved in next door—a girl who has never seen a Rubik's Cube before, but who can solve it at once. There is something wrong with her, though, something odd. And she only comes out at night.

Mixed emotions and a fantastic performance
Revisado: 11-06-21
I went into this story expecting a creepy vampire and instead got a deeply sympathetic portrayal. The connection you make with the vampire, her friend, and the victims will leave you conflicted over how to feel, who do you want to be okay in the end? couple this with an amazing one man portrayal with distict voices for each character and you have a near perfect story.

Historia
In The Righteous Mind, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the origins of our divisions and points the way forward to mutual understanding. His starting point is moral intuition - the nearly instantaneous perceptions we all have about other people and the things they do. These intuitions feel like self-evident truths, making us righteously certain that those who see things differently are wrong. Haidt shows us how these intuitions differ across cultures, including the cultures of the political left and right.

Historia
A natural storyteller and raconteur in his own right - just listen to Paddle Your Own Canoe and Gumption - actor, comedian, carpenter, and all-around manly man Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) brings his distinctive baritone and a fine-tuned comic versatility to Twain's writing. In a knockout performance, he doesn't so much as read Twain's words as he does rejoice in them, delighting in the hijinks of Tom - whom he lovingly refers to as a "great scam artist" and "true American hero".

not a good reading

the story is decent, but the narrator can only do one voice and makes conversation between characters difficult to follow. The narrator also lacks any passion while reading the story, a real Ben Stein.

Historia
Ernest Hemingway said, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn". One hundred years after its author’s death, this classic remains remarkably modern and poignantly relevant. In this new edition, Elijah Wood reads Huck in a youthful voice that may be the closest interpretation to Twain’s original intent. His performance captures the excitement and confusion of adolescence and adventure.

The Sisters of Battle are the Emperor's most devout worshippers, fierce warriors preaching the purity of the Imperium and scourging their enemies with bolter and flamer. On a distant world, the Ecclesiarchy outpost of Sanctuary 101 was wiped out by an implacable foe - the fearless, soulless necrons. Now, a mission of the Sisterhood has returned to reconsecrate the site - but the metallic nightmares still lurk in the darkness, guarding a secret that has lain dormant for millennia.

Performance elevates the story
Revisado: 10-10-20
As a fan of the sisters and the necron I have a bias to enjoy this book. That said, I greatly enjoyed the experience of following these two factions clashing. I don't believe I will carry any of the characters with me, as they are all rather two dimensional. The characters feel more like archetypes meant to play roles in the plot rather than people and the events of the book are pretty low stakes in the view of the overall imperium.
Where this book shines is in the performance. Emma makes these characters come to life, and her voice/accent is absolutely perfect for portraying these zealous women. Come for the robot v nun battles, stay for the performance.

A worthless story with a fun setting.
Revisado: 08-23-20
As a fan of the podcast and the previous novel I was very excited to read this book. However I would suggest anyone give this book a pass regardless of the price you find it at.
Most content from welcome to night Vale does an excellent job of balancing quirky humor and true horror. I can think of many examples while listening to the podcast that were genuinely frightening just after making me laugh. Add on to that their usual Flair for memorable characters and this book is disappointing in every single way. It rarely made me laugh and it never once even gave me the impression that it was trying to be scary. The characters are two-dimensional cutouts who will be quickly forgotten, and to any small degree you may grow to care about the relationships between them, the author decided to use the final chapter to spit in your face (I won't spoil how but if you do decide to read the book I would suggest skipping the final chapter. You will not miss out on any story.)
