I wanted so much to like this book, but the story just didn’t live up to the title in any way, and was very misleading. The book is more about black and gay politics than it is about birding. Very odd mix of topics for a birding book and too many one sided political views. I just didn’t get it. I’ll give it 2 stars, only because the writing and narration was good enough for me to finish the book, all the while hoping for "Better Living Through Birding."

What made the experience of listening to Heart and Home the most enjoyable?

Okay, here we go.... Yes, I knew this book was well outside of my genre when I bought it, and No, I normally don’t read romance. With that said, every once in a while I will read something that I normally wouldn’t, and each time I do I find myself pleasantly surprised by not only the story, but the writing as well. Jennifer’s Heart and Home was no exception. Now I’m not saying it made me want to read more romance novels, but I do have to say that Heart and Home is one well written story, that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. I have this on my Kindle, but I chose to listen to the audio version when it came out. Nowadays I listen to more books than I read, and this narrator (Sarah Pavelec) rocked this book! An all around good package.

What about Sarah Pavelec’s performance did you like?

Sarah was awesome, couldn't ask for a better voice for this story.

Well written and well researched story that reminds me of the late great Zachary Recht works. The story held my attention straight through with know problem at all. Steve Coopers raspy voice took a little to get use to at first, but eventually grows on you as he does a great job narrating it. Looking forward to next one!

Gary brings to you an unbelievable amount of positive energy that you can't help but to get involved and get in gear, or simply get out of the business. He tells it like it is with no sugar coating. When you're done listening you'll want to listen again and again. There's a lot of information, good information, and sometimes you may feel the same information you can read in other books, but this is brought to you in a way that you will want to take action and not just say it was a good read. There's a lot of extras in the audio version that you won't want to miss. It's very personable and it makes you feel he's talking to you in the same room. This book is for everyone who wants more out of life, and not just for business owners who's trying to get ahead. Thanks Gary for sharing your experiences.
