Thank you, Marielle!
Revisado: 10-29-24
This episode of Life Kit moved me. I appreciate that Marielle Segarra shared her own breast cancer story. More people are getting diagnosed at a younger age, making breast cancer screenings even more critical.

There were too many Jasons to care anymore
Revisado: 09-16-24
The storyline gets very tedious at points, and I found myself not caring if Jason made it back to his family. When he's confronted by multiple versions of himself, I felt like this would be more interesting as a video game.

Historia
Eighty has been the new sixty for about twenty years now. In fact, there have always been late-in-life achievers, those who declined to go into decline just because they were eligible for social security. Journalist, humorist, and history buff Mo Rocca and coauthor Jonathan Greenberg introduce us to the people past and present who peaked when they could have been puttering—breaking out as writers, selling out concert halls, attempting to set land-speed records—and in the case of one ninety-year tortoise, becoming a first-time father. (Take that, Al Pacino!)

Historia
The Christmas season has arrived in Lower Lockwood, and the Fairway Players are busy rehearsing their festive holiday production of Jack and the Beanstalk to raise money for a new church roof. But despite the season, goodwill is distinctly lacking among the amateur theater enthusiasts with petty rivalries, a possibly asbestos-filled beanstalk, and some perennially absent players behind the scenes. Of course, there’s also the matter of the dead body onstage. Who could possibly have had the victim on their naughty list?

This is a fun little novella full of cast of questionable characters. Once you get into the story, it's hard to stop!

Revisado: 11-06-22
I listened to this book for a bookclub. I was sceptical when I couldn't find it at the library or a bookstore. I ended up getting it on Audible, and it was such a treat! I loved May's story. It was engrossing and heartwarming. I'm so glad I gave it go.
****Forewarning, the narrator's male voices remind me of Mr. Brown from Paddington Bear cartoons that I watched as a child.***
