Excellent!!!
Revisado: 05-11-22
I don't agree with the author on every little point (for instance, I'm highly skeptical about the Biblical codes) but he's always interesting and thought provoking. And his enthusiasm for knowledge of the Bible is infectious. Overall, I feel that I have a deeper and richer understanding of Genesis now and I plan to listen again in the future. I would highly recommend his commentary. Definitely worth a credit.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Another winner!!!
Revisado: 12-18-21
Quite different from "The Martian" but just as well done. IMHO Andy Weir hits another home run! Audible named it listen of the year and Weir and Porter deserved the honor. The characters were believable and the plot had enough unexpected twists and turns that it kept me in suspense. The ending was clever and satisfying but I enjoyed the book so much it still left me wanting more.

Historia
Do miracles still happen today? This book demonstrates that miraculous works of God, which have been part of the experience of the church around the world since Christianity began, continue into the present. Leading New Testament scholar Craig Keener addresses common questions about miracles and provides compelling reasons to believe in them today, including many accounts that offer evidence of verifiable miracles.

Thought Provoking
Revisado: 12-01-21
Growing up in a conservative Baptist church I was taught that miracles and healings are not for the church today. But Keener has helped convince me that God works today just as He did in Bible times. The book also demonstrates that God doesn't always do things in the way we would expect. Nor does He seem to do things the same way every time. As C S Lewis said in the Chronicles of Narnia, "He isn't a tame lion." But God always has a purpose and He is always good.
I found this book inspiring and it strengthened my faith. Not that I think God has called me to start a ministry of healing (though that would be awesome). Nor do I think God is necessarily going to heal me of a serious life debilitating problem I've had since I was a child. But I can see through the testimonies Keener presents that God is working today and His power, kindness and love have not diminished in the past 2000 years. He is strong and He is in total control. And that is so encouraging in these days.
It is a terrific book, well worth a credit.

Historia
When the biggest colony ship in human history was sent to settle a paradise world, an accident hurtled it deep into uncharted space. A thousand light years from Earth, with no way home and no way to call for help, the colonists’ only hope for survival was the one barely habitable planet in range, a nightmare world they named Croatoan. Landing on the only five mountain peaks tall enough to rise above the lethal acid clouds, the settlers carved a civilization from the rock.

I guess that overall it was a typical Correia book, interesting and well written, but I wouldn't know because I couldn't get by the slow pace of the audio. I can understand the reader using a voice to sound like a stereotypical detective but the monotone he uses is tiring on the ears. I couldn't make it through til the end.

Historia
As the modern church struggles to find a place of relevancy for a new generation that already has massive demands on its time and attention, more and more young people raised in the church are leaving it - failing to find the answers to their questions. Join authors Dr. Jason Lisle and Tim Chaffey as they put forth a case against an old-earth interpretation of Scripture. A comprehensive biblical, theological, and scientific critique of old-earth creationism, the book presents its compelling testimony in layman's terms to create a powerful debate that leads to unquestionable truth.

Great Reference
Revisado: 07-24-21
Well written and easy to understand even for the average layman like me. If you are not a Christian and believe in evolution and that the earth is billions of years old, then this book will probably not convince you otherwise. But if you are a Christian who already believes that the earth was created in six ordinary 24 hour days then this book will help build your confidence in the plain words of scripture. It will also give you a lot of information that will help you answer questions you might encounter in discussions with friends and relatives who may be Christians but may not agree with your stand on creation. Well worth a credit!

The Merry Band of Pirates offered the bad guys a ceasefire. We won’t mess with them, if they don’t mess with us. Easy, right? No. The aliens chose to do things the hard way. So, the Pirates are racing around the galaxy to clean up the threat to Earth. The infant UN Navy has their own mission with the Alien Legion: Get humanity some allies in the fight. And the Ethics & Compliance Office might have to do something...ethical. Unless they can find a way around it.

Long section was boring
Revisado: 01-09-21
One reviewer said it was a soap opera. Good analysis, that pretty much sums up a large part of the book. The author goes into detail about stuff that has nothing to do with the overall plot. It also doesn't do much for character development either. I really don't need or want to know about how Bishop's girl friend goes shopping for a dress, nor what they talked about while on a date. and I especially don't want to know about his sex life. The author is too good a writer to depend on this kind of thing. It felt like much of the book was just filler material.

Revisado: 07-03-19
Only a bit over half way through the book but I've already learned enough to give it five stars. I don't like reading books on "how to write" simply because I'm impatient and rather spend my time actually on my craft. Most creatives probably feel the same way. This book is efficient and gives a lot of information without making you feel you are wasting valuable time. Easy to understand with practical illustrations. Its a great book, well written!

Great Listen for the Predator Fan
Revisado: 03-12-18
Any additional comments?
Of course I liked some of the stories more than others, but all of them were fun and a few were outstanding. The stories were imaginative but they didn't wander too far from the "Predator" tradition of the original Schwarzenegger movie. Some of them reminded me of the "Predator" fan films on YouTube. The writing was good and so was the narration. Overall a great effort! I enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to Predator fans.
