Historia
Prince Oak is paying for his betrayal. Imprisoned in the icy north and bound to the will of a monstrous new queen, he must rely on charm and calculation to survive. With High King Cardan and High Queen Jude willing to use any means necessary to retrieve their stolen heir, Oak will have to decide whether to attempt regaining the trust of the girl he’s always loved or to remain loyal to Elfhame and hand over the means to end her reign—even if it means ending Wren, too.

Another great story
Revisado: 03-20-24
The story was very well written and very creative. I love all of Hollly Black's books! It was a bit odd at first to switch from a female narrator in the first book to a male in the second, but they were both great. I would have liked it more if they were both used in the story. I'm not sure why that doesn't happen more often.

Never Dissapointed!
Revisado: 12-04-19
Fablehaven and this series have been my top favorites, both in fantasy fiction and Audible listening. The stories are excellent, the narration is excellent it makes you feel as though you're actually in the story, and it's one the whole family can enjoy. The worst thing about it is knowing that eventually it will end :-)

great female narrator
Revisado: 10-05-19
I really enjoyed the female narrators voice and depiction of Calypso. I was confused by the 1 chapter of narration done by a male narrator. it threw everything off, and I felt his voice/accent sounded more like a snobbish butler than the characters he was reading about. this us why I usually prefer to read my own books. but the female narrator was spot on, and made it wirth while

This was a wonderful story that everyone in the family enjoyed. The narrator is also very talented and pleasant to listen to. I would listen to it again and will look for more from this author in the future :-)

Absolutely worth reading
Revisado: 04-27-17
The story is beautiful in its simplicity and honesty. There is wisdom here for each of us. It is easy to relate to Snow flower and Lily and I am grateful to have experienced their story. The remarks from the author, at the end, were just as touching as the story itself. Thank you for sharing their story with us!

Historia
In his wickedly brilliant first novel, Debut Dagger Award winner Alan Bradley introduces one of the most singular and engaging heroines in recent fiction: Eleven-year-old Flavia de Luce, an aspiring chemist with a passion for poison. It is the summer of 1950 - and a series of inexplicable events has struck Buckshaw, the decaying English mansion that Flavia’s family calls home. A dead bird is found on the doorstep, a postage stamp bizarrely pinned to its beak. Hours later, Flavia finds a man lying in the cucumber patch and watches him as he takes his dying breath.

a witty and wonderful story cleverly played out. narrated by a very charismatic reader, who at first seemed too old for the part comma but was delightful enough that that was forgotten quickly enough. These are the kind of stories that make reading worthwhile :-)

One of my favorite series of all time!

All around great read!
Revisado: 07-19-16
My family and I listened to this trilogy on audio book while traveling. The story was interesting and engaging, and my kids loved a story about a child hero. I usually loath narration. I find their interpretation of a story different than mine, or their voices irritating or laughable, and prefer to read myself. I was pleasantly surprised to find this narrator both impressive, talented and greatly added to the richness of the characters and story. How lucky am I to have the journey be a memorable part of our vacation? No squabbles, bickering or complaining, only groans when we paused the story to fuel up :D
