Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

Longer than necessary
Revisado: 02-01-25
I always love the attention to detail paid to STEM topics in the Bobiverse. There are many cool concepts in thiscwork. However, the writing style felt different here than in the first 3 books. While the occasional funny analogy or pithy comment is welcome this book had so many that it felt like the author was using them to pad the story and artificially make it longer. The lesson to learn from short but excellent works like "Dune Messiah" is that a book need not be long to be good. There was a lot of fluff that could have been cut out here. Removing it would actually make the story stronger.

Historia
The man on the moon was dead. They called him Charlie. He had big eyes, abundant body hair, and fairly long nostrils. His skeletal body was found clad in a bright red spacesuit, hidden in a rocky grave. They didn’t know who he was, how he got there, or what had killed him. All they knew was that his corpse was 50 thousand years old - and that meant this man had somehow lived long before he ever could have existed.

A work of proper sci-fi well rooted in proper research.

I discovered this book while watching Robotech The New Generation. The character Lunk carries it around with him. Again, it is a work of proper sci-fi well rooted in proper research.

Historia
In the absence of motorized boats and gondolas, Venice’s waters have returned to a sparkling blue color. Deer have been spotted roaming cities in Italy, and mountain goats recently took over a small seaside town in Wales. Taking advantage of the decreased boat traffic, whales have returned to roaming Vancouver’s harbours. The absence of “regular” human activities has dramatically affected our environment. In this book, Bob McDonald turns his focus to global energy sources, and shows how the global shutdowns may have been exactly what we needed to show us that a greener future is achievable.

Revisado: 11-28-24
As an environmentalist/tech that has followed this topic for most of my life I found most of the book simply confirmed what I already knew, however I think this book needs to be read by the masses as big geeks like me need to get past preaching to the choir to make an impact. This book does for energy what "Fiber" does for broadband.

How to be a tool that attracts other tools.
Revisado: 08-28-21
The title of this book should be, "How to be a Tool that Attracts Other Tools." I say this having scored very high on the "attractiveness" quiz. If these are the values women look for in men, then the species is doomed. As shown by the state of our planet. Guess we should have all valued intelligence more.

Even A Broken Clock Is Right Twice a Day
Revisado: 05-06-19
Most of the data in here is highly suspect, but he is right about SUVs, Trump, the wealthy, the assault on the poor and middle class by the elite via necessities, and the need for personal discipline. Just about everything else he believes is backward and presented in an offensive manner. The dating and sex section was painful.

Historia
Ten years ago, the United States stood at the forefront of the Internet revolution. With some of the fastest speeds and lowest prices in the world for high-speed Internet access, the nation was poised to be the global leader in the new knowledge-based economy. Today that global competitive advantage has all but vanished because of a series of government decisions and resulting monopolies that have allowed dozens of countries, including Japan and South Korea, to pass us in both speed and price of broadband.

Funny How Little Has Changed Since This Was Writte
Revisado: 04-05-19
Everyone should read the author's update to this "Fiber". However, it's interesting to see how little has changed in over a decade. My only gripe, is that the author doesn't talk about the possible dangers if radiation from wireless. 99% of this book is fantastic.

Much better than the movie.

After reading Ready Player One I always wanted to compare this book with its movie. I now hardly feel like the movie does this book justice. The characters, especially, are much better in the book.
