Historia
From the moment his eyes met hers, there was something. Time stood still, the world around them vanished, and electricity... instant electricity. Immediately, she owned him in an inexplicable way he couldn’t quite understand. He couldn't escape her. Not in his dreams. And soon, not even in his reality. He was the man that made her soar. There was nothing in the world she wanted more than him. Absolutely nothing. His touch made her levitate. When she was with him, she was limitless. He felt like home.

The dynamics of the character arc
Revisado: 11-05-24
I enjoyed the story, interesting characters, some aspects resonated with me as well as learning about Doulas. Liked the POV on the issues and circumstances surrounding pregnancies and loss, stress, compatibility. A nice ending for all. the only thing I didnt like was the readers voice and cadence for Layton, it felt like listening to AI it was a alight drawback.

Historia
If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves. When Whoopi lost her mother in 2010—and then her older brother, Clyde, five years later—she felt deeply alone; the only people who truly knew her were gone. Emma raised her children not just to survive, but to thrive. In this intimate and heartfelt memoir, Whoopi shares many of the deeply personal stories of their lives together for the first time.

It's really great to understand her more/better. I appreciated her candor and transparency and for me this filled in the blanks about what I thought I knew and didn't know about Ms. Whoopi Goldberg, even how this stage name came to be.
Gratitude

Historia
For a brief moment in the summer of 1900, Robert Charles was arguably the most infamous Black man in the United States. After an altercation with police on a New Orleans street, Charles killed two police officers and fled. During a manhunt that extended for days, violent White mobs roamed the city, assaulting African Americans and killing at least half a dozen. When authorities located Charles, he held off a crowd of thousands for hours before being shot to death.

Great story telling and even better research. Here is so much history and relatable info in this story. This story that they have tried to erase for over a century.

This was funny, informative intriguing, and I absolutely love the wordplay. Such a character. He told it all, dropped all the names. Makes me want to go home to NOLA in a nostalgic way.
