A fun entertaining story
Revisado: 11-28-23
This is no Asimov epic, but it is definitely an entertaining story. I would definitely recommend, this is a tale I have read about 4 times over the years and always enjoy.
The narrator was solid, not great but good.

Historia
The Theft of a Decade is a contrarian, revelatory analysis of how one generation pulled the rug out from under another and the myriad consequences that has set in store for all of us. The millennial generation was the unfortunate victim of several generations of economic theories that made life harder for them than it was for their grandparents. Then came the crash of 2008, and the boomer generation's reaction to it was brutal: politicians and policymakers made deliberate decisions that favored the interests of the boomer generation over their heirs.

Data is presented in a compelling and easy to digest manner. I’d recommend not listening to it before going to visit some Boomers as you’ll be sorely tempted to correct their misguided thoughts as to how great they are.

Historia
In Woke, Titania McGrath demonstrates how everybody can play their part in the pursuit of social justice. As a millennial icon on the forefront of online activism, Titania is uniquely placed to guide her listeners through the often bewildering array of terminology and concepts that constitute 21st-century 'wokeness'. These new ideas often leave the general public bemused, particularly if they don't read the Guardian. Being woke is actually much easier than people think. As Titania demonstrates, anyone can be an activist.

Take a breath relax and laugh
Revisado: 04-07-21
I really wanted to write my review in slam poetry fashion, alas I lack the wit and talent to do justice. A fun listen that had me looking deranged when I was laughing out loud at the grocery store.
“He-Man reeked of toxic masculinity, but at least he was progressive enough to announce his pronouns.”
🤣🤣still gets me reading it now.
Narrator, Alice Marshall is just fantastic!! DO NOT READ THIS BOOK, LISTEN TO HER DO IT!
I am recommending to everyone: friends, family, the person looking oddly at me in the grocery store. Comedy is just a great lens to see things through. If it can’t stand a laugh, it can’t stand.
Cheers y’all and enjoy

Even the imperial legions, long inured to the bloodshed, yearn for some respite. Yet Empress Laseen's rule remains absolute, enforced by her dread Claw assassins.

Garbage
Revisado: 12-31-20
Bounces around everywhere with no context. The characters have no soul and the story has no purpose. Giving up at 5 hours and asking for a refund.
I love that there are a ton of articles and whatnot trying to sell you on the idea of how brilliant the book/series is. This ain’t Moby Dick and Erickson is most certainly not Melville. The cultish following strikes me as the desperate seeking difference.

Historia
"The White Company" is a historical adventure novel by Arthur Conan Doyle set during the Hundred Years' War. The story takes place in England, France, and Spain, in the years 1366 and 1367, against the background of the campaign of Edward, the Black Prince to restore Peter of Castile to the throne of the Kingdom of Castile. At the age of twenty, young Alleyne, son of Edric, leaves the Catholic abbey where he has been raised - intelligent, skilled, and well-liked, though sheltered and naive - and goes out to see the world, in accordance with the terms of his father’s will.

This a great book to read to your kids. Gallant knights, fetching damsels, hardy men-at-arms; a truly grand tale. Personal opinion, to capture the story best, the first read should be done by book.
The audiobook narrator does a fantastic job bringing the characters alive.

Historia
America is in crisis, from the university to the workplace. Toxic ideas first spread by higher education have undermined humanistic values, fueled intolerance, and widened divisions in our larger culture. The Diversity Delusion argues that the root of this problem is the belief in America’s endemic racism and sexism, a belief that has engendered a metastasizing diversity bureaucracy in society and academia.

A much needed alternative viewpoint
Revisado: 08-14-20
Heather Mac Donald presents a very fact based breakdown of the subject matter. A must read if you cannot satisfy yourself with the current prevailing explanations of the state of our communities. Are her conclusions accurate? Heck if I know, but they deserve to be debated, not slandered and silenced by her detractors.

Historia
The War on Cops exposes the truth about officer use of force and explodes the conceit of "mass incarceration". A rigorous analysis of data shows that crime, not race, drives police actions and prison rates. The growth of proactive policing in the 1990s, along with lengthened sentences for violent crime, saved thousands of minority lives. In fact, Mac Donald argues, no government agency is more dedicated to the proposition that "black lives matter" than today's data-driven, accountable police department.

Thought provoking
Revisado: 07-21-20
Knowledge is power and in a climate where data can easily trounce the “feelings” arguments, this book is a must read.
I gave it a four on story as I diverge from the author’s conclusion that family structure is a root cause of crime issues. I tend to believe a distracted and distanced society is a better explanation. A community can make up for an absent parent if it is inclined and given the opportunity and empowerment to do so.
