Historia
Wilhelmina Shisbey is unlucky number thirteen.... She's the thirteenth person in the world to be documented with H-SAM, (highly superior autographical memory). But Willa's reality only grows worse when her adoptive family moves from a Chicago suburb to Huntington Beach, California. That is, until she befriends the super-smart Marley Applegate, editor of the troubled school paper, and intentional under-achiever Cody Cassidy, who also happens to be the hottest boy at Triton Middle School.

Narration is stilted and unnatural
Revisado: 02-23-21
Narration is terrible. Makes it hard to enjoy the story. But it’s still a step up for audible. At least the voice actress doesnt sound like a 70 year old smoker.

Historia
Katie Welker is used to being alone. She would rather read a book than deal with other people. Other people don't have silver eyes. Other people can't make things happen just by thinking about them! But these special powers make Katie unusual, and it's hard to make friends when you're unusual. Katie knows that she's different but she's never done anything to hurt anyone, so why is everyone afraid of her? Maybe there are other kids out there who have the same silver eyes . . . and the same talents . . . and maybe they'll be willing to help her.

Monotone narration
Revisado: 01-22-21
Really wish audible or whoever picks narrators would consider the audience. And try to pick better narrators the constant speaking rhythm f the narrator throughout the ENTIRE story make it difficult to stick to.

Historia
The New York Times best-selling true story of an all-American girl and a boy from Zimbabwe and the letter that changed both of their lives forever. It started as an assignment. Everyone in Caitlin's class wrote to an unknown student somewhere in a distant place. Martin was lucky to even receive a pen-pal letter. There were only 10 letters, and 50 kids in his class. But he was the top student, so he got the first one. That letter was the beginning of a correspondence that spanned six years and changed two lives.

Narrator carries the story
Revisado: 01-20-14
Where does The Long Secret rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I listen to this several times a month!
Would you recommend The Long Secret to your friends? Why or why not?
I would recommend this book because it's a funny, well-written story. Although it is not as interesting as Harriet the Spy.
What does Anne Bobby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Anne Bobby is an EXCELLENT and very expressive narrator. Her voice is believable and she acts out the descriptives in the book. Her voice is very animated and interesting. She doesn't have 60 year old smokers' voice (which messes up so many great stories for me) and her reading is not stilted but flows lyrically (unlike one particular young narrator I've heard). I wish she would redo some of my favorites, ie. Judy Blume books. No offense Ms. Blume.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The story isn't as good as Harriet the Spy, but it is still humorous. I suppose the draw to it is it brings a sort of nostalgia that makes you feel safe, and wish for the time when kids could rove about town without fear of being harmed by some crazed loon.
