Historia
This touching and uproarious novel by author Paul Murray made everyone’s best fiction of 2010 lists, including The Washington Post, Financial Times, Village Voice, and others. Why Skippy dies and what happens next is the mystery that links the boys of Dublin’s Seabrook College (Ruprecht Van Doren, the overweight genius obsessed with string theory; Carl, the teenager drug dealer and borderline psychotic; Philip Kilfether, the basketball-playing midget) to their parents and teachers in ways that no one could have imagined.

Would you try another book from Paul Murray and/or the narrators?
Probably.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Could not finsh.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Rich and varied.
Was Skippy Dies worth the listening time?
Maybe, but don't read it if teenage misery bothers you.
Any additional comments?
Voyeurism, bullying, nihilism, and all the other joys of adolescence culminate in this story. Look at your old high school yearbook before you read this and be thankful that you aren't Skippy.

Historia
For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

Poor Narration
Revisado: 07-09-12
What would have made Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir) better?
I think this would have be much funnier if the author hadn't done the narration. She spoke too fast and her voice trailed down into raspiness at the end of each sentence. I found myself rewinding a lot just to catch the meaning.
What could Jenny Lawson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
This would have been more enjoyable if the narrator had a more comical voice a la Tine Fey in Bossypants.
Would you be willing to try another one of Jenny Lawson’s performances?
no
What character would you cut from Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir)?
Probably no one.
Any additional comments?
Jenny Lawson's audiobooks would be much better if done by a professional.
