The story really compelled me. What women have to do and or become to have power, alongside what can happen to an idea born from good intentions and how monsters will twist that vision. I loved the submersible sounds, you really feel like you are along for the ride. Great listen!

A vulnerable tale from a maudlin brainiac...

The story telling is incredibly well crafted.

This book feels like the prequel to Girl Interrupted. It takes us back to the Wild West of the late 80’s early 90’s before helicopter parenting existed. Jamie gives us a slice of incredibly relatable content. Her story telling is done beautifully, as a writer she is clearly talented. I wish the end of story would have focused more on what gave her hope that she would be ok after such a rollercoaster of teenage years. I wanted to know how these experiences shaped her into the person she is now. I am very glad she did make it through, I am glad there is hope.

I am a huge fan of Blake Crouch’s writing. This one was not completely my flavor but did absolutely brooch some important subject matter. I found the reader to be a bit bland at times.

Not this version, the reading is so bad I couldn't get past the first few chapters.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I have read the two previous books in hard copy and love the characters.
Would you be willing to try another one of Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford ’s performances?
No way.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Ugh, no, I gave it multiple chances, but The girl reading Tris was just terrible. Her sing song-y rhythm and whiny tone don't communicate the strength that Tris has to summon for her journey.
