Historia
I found the journal at work. Well, I don't know if you'd call it work, but that's where I found it. It's the lost journal of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors and visionaries ever. Before he died in 1943, he kept a notebook filled with spectacular claims and outrageous plans.

Better than I was expecting
Revisado: 04-20-17
Alternate universe book. With some interesting twists. The book kept me involved and the narration by the author was excellent.
My only problem was I thought Tesla would come up with cooler stuff
I think I will try another of the authors books to see if they are as good as this one.

Historia
Ex-CIA master assassin Court Gentry has always prided himself on his ability to disappear at will, to fly below the radar and exist in the shadows - to survive as the near-mythical Gray Man. But when he takes revenge upon a former employer who betrayed him, he exposes himself to something he’s never had to face before. A killer who is just like him. Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry.

Story had too many holes
Revisado: 07-17-16
Very disappointed. Story line was weak. Top security people were really stupid, this way it made it easier for the author- it just seemed like he was too lazy to come up with more credible scenarios.

Great- different than the McKnight Books
Revisado: 05-22-16
Set in Urban Chicago and not the desolate Michigan U.P. like most of his other books.
Many are probably not familiar with Steve Hamilton, since in the past he was considered to be a "Michigan" writer (according to the NYTiimes), Steve writes fast paced action books. Is this book the main character makes a bargain with an evil character, who can get him released from jail, but in return he has to do whatever he request for the next twenty years.
Great narration, good character development. You can tell this is being developed to be another series like McKnight. In the McKnight series the main character was a reluctant private detective, in this series the main character is a reluctant hit man.
Hopefully Hamilton will continue to write McKnight books and I look forward to seeing how this Nick Mason character deals with his situation in the next book.

Historia
Things are going well for Decius Caecilius Metellus. He is Praetor Peregrinus, which means he has to judge a case or two, but those cases are outside of the city. His cases will be those dealing with foreigners, and all of Italy is his province. His first stop is Campania, "Italy’s most popular resort district". Decius and his wife, Julia, are happy for a change of scenery. But the good times end when, in a town near Vesuvius, a priest’s daughter is murdered. Decius must find her killer and keep the mob off a young boy who everyone blames but he believes to be innocent.

Rome unlike you would imagine
Revisado: 05-09-16
What about John Lee’s performance did you like?
He is a great narrator, I will be looking to see if he is narrating any other books!
Any additional comments?
Explains life in Rome, as you would imagine it might be. Slavery is common, everybody seems to own a few. Historical characters are involved and you get a feeling Rome was not such a good place even for the nobles.

Revisado: 05-09-16
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Book makes you think, unlike most books in this genre it doesn't make alien worlds based on earthly values.
Easy to see how a few on earth would orchestrate our own destruction

Historia
Even when finding oneself engaged in interstellar war, good form must be observed. Our story is set thousands of years after the Terran Exodus, where two powerful, planet-dominating families - the elegant House Jakabitus and the less refined Hahn Empire - have reached a critical point in their generations-long war. Master Hennik, the Hahn ruler's only son, has been captured, and the disposition of his internment may represent a last and welcome chance for peace.

Revisado: 04-28-16
Another very good Scott Myers book. Luke Daniels is as always great as a narrator.
Politics and humor in this alternate world. We can all identify with many of the characters, either in business , politics, family, or neighbor.
Story has many twists and turns, and surprisingly reaches a logical ending.

Historia
Ancient Rome, in this accurate and evocative series, is just as politics driven as any major American city - possibly even more. Decius Caecilius Metellus has, through a series of rather wild adventure, and in the act of tracking down killers and other reprobates, barely escaped annhilation several times. Now, newly elected to the office of aedile, the lowest rung on the ladder of Roman authority, he must smoke out corruption and conspiracy that threaten to destroy all of Rome.

Historia
This eagerly awaited fifth book in John Maddox Roberts's Edgar-nominated historical mystery series once again takes the reader back to the Rome of Julius Caesar and the Roman Senator Decius Caecilius Metellus the Younger. Decius has won himself a reputation as both an investigator and, most unfortunately, a bit of a playboy. Having been banished by his family for sometimes embarrassing activities to a rather leisurely lifestyle on Rhodes, he is puzzled to be suddenly and unexpectedly summoned home to assist in an investigation.

Great historical Fiction
Revisado: 09-13-15
It's really great to have a historical fiction murder mystery book, where the characters do not have to be politically correct by today's standards. It is a must read!
The book includes all the great Roman historical figures, and as far as I can tell its historically accurate
Although I need to do more research on the history of the Vatican grounds which the book describes in some interesting ways
