Historia
1950: Margaret Devonshire (Megs) is a 17-year-old student of mathematics and physics at Oxford University. When her beloved eight-year-old brother asks Megs if Narnia is real, logical Megs tells him it’s just a book for children, and certainly not true. Homebound due to his illness, and remaining fixated on his favorite books, George presses her to ask the author of the recently released novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe a question: “Where did Narnia come from?”

A Moving and Most Excellent Story
Revisado: 03-16-24
Having loved all of CS Lewis' Narnia books, I started this book with high expectations and am delighted the story exceeded them. It's charming, memorable, funny, and bittersweet. I highly recommend this!

Amazing True Story of Human Resiliency
Revisado: 03-14-24
The Last Lifeboat is such a compelling, fictionalized account, based on a true WWII event and people, that captured my attention and heart from its start. I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates not just stories of survival, but those of people who rise above dire circumstances to be so much more than they ever expected they'd be.

A Most Warm and Enjoyable Book
Revisado: 02-21-24
Author Chris Fabry caught my attention from the very start and held it until the story's end. His down-to-earth narration is heartfelt and convincing. The story encourages me that there are still decent, God-fearing people in this world who look at for each other. I highly recommend this book.

A Most Enjoyable Book
Revisado: 01-23-24
I was immediately drawn into the story and enjoyed both it and its narration. Learning that so much research and time (18 years!) went into this, including connections to Sarah Ferguson's ancestors, helped me appreciate the depth and care she put into the characters and the story. I look forward to her other novels.

So Much Food For Thought
Revisado: 01-11-24
This book stirred my imagination more than I expected. At first, I took me a few chapters to settle into the narrative. Then the Biblical story weaved in and through all the author added to flesh out the life stories of Adam and Eve and their descendants in almost satisfying way. As I finished listening, I felt full of expectant hope of eternity with Christ. I recommend this book.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

Historia
People often think of Job sitting on the ash heap, his life in shambles. But how did he get there? What was Job's life like before tragedy struck? What did he think as his world came crashing down around him? And what was life like after God restored his wealth, health, and family? Through painstaking research and a writer's creative mind, Mesu Andrews weaves an emotional and stirring account of this well-known story told through the eyes of the women who loved him.

Unusual Story with Redemption and Consequences
Revisado: 10-11-23
The Last Exchange was initially hard for me to connect with, but as the story progressed, I kept listening, wanting to learn how things would possibly come to a satisfying conclusion. The story is a good one, the narration quite good, but the two main character names unbelievable. It’s for this reason I rate this with four stars instead of five.

I very much enjoyed this book with its characters drawn from history’s pages. The characters, plot line, and dual time frames made for a most engaging listen.
