OMG, what an awful book - poor writing, no arc, trite. By the end I was laughing at how bad it was - then the author had the audacity to tease a sequel!

I’ve like her books in the past but this one had no meat. No climax within - horrible cliffhanger - no desire to read on.

What disappointed you about Enslaved?
The narrator is HORRENDOUS!! I couldn't even get through the first 2 minutes. Such an awful affected voice - was it supposed to be dramatic? sultry? Uuuuugggh! I had to return the book because I could not get through another minute of such a grating voice. Sorry Shoshanna - please listen to the next audible narrator you choose.
How could the performance have been better?

Would you try another book from Shayla Black and/or Aletha George?
Read a few of Blacks books and most were not bad - this one was AWFUL! Terribly written. Did she really write this? Soooooooo bad! Where were the editors for this book?
What could Shayla Black have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
LEAVE OUT CLICHES/METAPHORS/SIMILES - 'HOTTER THAN A PANCAKE ON THE GRIDDLE' (okay I made that one up because I didn't want to waste time re-listening to catch all the inane ones in the book) - One in just about every paragraph, each one more stupid than the last - NO LIE!

EYE ROLLS. Spoiler alert: The killer's real name is Ruthie Joe from the trailer park turned smart sexy killer and computer genius?! REALLY?!

Mostly I feel like a fool finishing the book. I've never written a review before but this one was so awful and I just had to.

AWFUL!! I've listened to a lot of audiobooks but this is the first one I've been compelled to review. I wish I could blame it on the narrator (who wasn't very good) BUT, sorry Suzanne - you really blew this one. She included just about every sappy cliche, characters had NO depth, and all were wimpy (except maybe Melody's sister and Andy). I love the Troubleshooter series - funny, fun word-play and full complex characters - "Gone Too Far" and "Flashpoint" my favorites. I'm glad I read those first because if I'd started with "Everyday, Average Jones" I'd have passed Brockmann off as a bad Harlequin author. Go for Troubleshooters series instead - MUCH better.
