A rare, original Third Reich official publication exposing the evil and bizarre nature of Freemasonry. The information contained in this Der Aufbau pamphlet are based on actual lodge documents and procedures seized or exposed by NSDAP authorities.

Intriguing and Insightful
Revisado: 12-11-17
I'm by no means an advocate of Adolf Hitler regardless if the Nazis didn't like the Freemasons, but this audiobook does call some things into question. I've been been researching Freemasonry for years (most of the websites and books on the subject by conspiracy theorists are filled with nonsense) but the Nazis being against Freemasons is not something I've ever come across...except maybe on a an actual Freemason website where they're crying about the few times in history the leaders of some country didn't tolerate their "harmless" little "club."
I found the book enlightening but now I want to know more about the subject. Was this simply a case of Hitler feeling his power was threatened by the Freemasons? Napoleon also supposedly had a problem with Freemasonry...eventually anyway. I don't think the Nazis made the case against Freemasonry strong enough in this book...or where the Nazis really just that quick to round people up if they were holding secret meetings and engaging in goofy rituals?
Well, I liked the audiobook but sadly it's just leading me deeper down the old rabbit hole. Don't let that deter you from getting it though, it was a good listen, and there's always going to be more questions to ask. I think the whole truth is much more complex than most people could ever imagine.

Historia
Marine Corporal Sean Nichols is wounded in a devastating ambush that takes the lives of his three friends and leaves him an amputee. If not for the heroism of his sergeant, Deke Tilman, who pulled him out of the road, Sean would have surely died with his fire team. With the help of Deke, Sean now embarks on his next mission - recuperate from his serious injuries, and visit the families of his fallen comrades as he tries to make peace with such profound loss.

One of the most immersive and heatfelt war books
Revisado: 06-09-17
Where does Battle Scars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I'm relatively new to audiobooks, but this was one of the most amazing books I've read or listened to in my entire life. I'm shipping off to train to be a Combat Medic in the US Army in just a few weeks so this book really hit home. Mr. Salkin really knew how to approach the subject. I really liked the character Sergeant Deke, as that's the kind of guy I hope to be, in terms of being able to project a winning attitude into others, even when they think there's no hope left.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Battle Scars?
After the book sets out to immerse you in the lifestyle and psyche of the marines deployed in Afghanistan, the book diverts into the personal relationships between the soldiers and their own thoughts and struggles, sealing them in the iron-clad brotherhood that develops between "battle buddies," in a warzone. I don't want to spoil anymore of the book, but if you have read titles such as Soldier X or Fallen Angels, you'll know what I mean when I say this book gets really emotional, and I found myself tearing up during several parts of the narration.
Have you listened to any of John Alan Martinson Jr. and Phoenix T. Clark ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Martinson did an excellent job exhibiting the emotion of the dialogue between the characters in the book, as well as the general and dynamic atmosphere in the narration. If Clark was the female nurse in the book, it really adds to the contrast of environments that she is featured in, so it adds a really nice touch which maintains the immersion of the book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cried some, chuckled some, and felt like I was really there the whole time.
Any additional comments?
I'm glad titles like this are out there, so that people can gather some level of insight as to what our veterans have gone through; much respect to the author and narrator.

Bold, raw, forbidden, The 21 Laws of Surviving a Gentlemen's Club is a wake-up call for all patrons. You don't have to be a strip club aficionado to recognize that the behavior of the average patron is evolving before your eyes - rampant narcissism, lack of focus, and no agenda all spell danger.

Every Man Should Read This Book
Revisado: 06-07-17
What did you love best about The 21 Laws of Surviving a Gentlemen's Club?
After going through a divorce and finally being done with alimony and child support I started looking at strip clubs as a way to enjoy some adult fun as a man. The problem has been that I have been wasting my money in the club, throwing it around like like green-horn amateur that doesn't know his ass from his elbow. All the while there's guys that love these places, and I just couldn't out what the heck they see in them. Anyway, after listening to this "I see the light." Since I'm an older guy with money to spend I think I'm going to focus on a day time strategy as Darius outlines. In any case, for all you young guys out there, this audiobook is a great investment. Much better than paying vagina-mony or grown-woman-support for children you barely get to see. Big thanks to Darius for this title, and I think John did a great job narrating.
