Historia
All Reyna and Kianthe want is to open a bookshop that serves tea. Worn wooden floors, plants on every table, firelight drifting between the rafters… all complemented by love and good company. Thing is, Reyna works as one of the Queen’s private guards, and Kianthe is the most powerful mage in existence. Leaving their lives isn’t so easy. But after an assassin takes Reyna hostage, she decides she’s thoroughly done risking her life for a self-centered queen. Meanwhile, Kianthe has been waiting for a chance to flee responsibility–all the better that her girlfriend is on board.

Not so low-stakes.
Revisado: 06-25-24
I enjoyed the over all story and the relationship conflict resolutions. This author definitely captured a believable romance within...but the overall conflict of the book left me feeling anxious. I enjoy "Cozy Fantasy" for the low-stakes conflicts. I would not categorize it as the typical "Cozy Fantasy" story like "Legends and Lattes" and so many other reviewers have.

Historia
My name is Mercy Thompson Hauptman, and my mate, Adam, is the werewolf who leads the Columbia Basin Pack, the pack charged with keeping the people who live and work in the Tri-Cities of Washington State safe. It’s a hard job, and it doesn’t leave much room for side quests. Which is why when I needed to travel to Montana to help my brother, I intended to go by myself.

I have no complaints about this book. Briggs did a fantastic job with this one. The narrator was fabulous as always. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Revisado: 11-09-23
It's a much better installment to the series than the last book (Slay), but ...
Laurell, can we please stop using the "kidnap Anita" scenario? I swear it's happened 4 or 5 times already. IT'S GETTING BORING. We STILL don't get to the wedding, and she set it up for at least one more before Anita FINALLY walks down the aisle, so don't expect to see the wedding any time soon.
Oh, and one more thing... Grandma Blake is a terrible person and deserves no redemption. Period.

Historia
The vampires of Asheville, North Carolina, want to establish their own clan, but since they owe loyalty to the Master Vampire of New Orleans, they must work out the terms with him. To come up with an equitable solution, he sends an envoy with the best bodyguard blood money can buy: skinwalker Jane Yellowrock. But when a group of local campers are attacked by something fanged, Jane goes from escort to investigator. Is it a rogue-vampire, shapechanger, or witch? Or something else magical?

Revisado: 06-16-23
Big fan of this book series and as an Asheville local Hunter did a great job describing the area. But my God, the narrator is terrible! If I have to hear her mispronounce my county one more time, I will lose my mind! She frequently gets her accents wrong too. Natives of Western North Carolina DON'T sound like that.

What happened to the end of the book?
Revisado: 03-31-23
I'm a ling time fan of this series, but this volume is the most disappointing one in the entire series so far (including "Jason"). Literally NONE of the problems presented in the first part of the book get resolved. The end of the book was literally off. with no resolution to anything. It was almost as if she cut the ending of the book off just so she could release book 30 this year since it's the 30th anniversary of the series.
So don't get hour hopes up with this one. Do better, Laurell.

Historia
The world of Faerie never disappeared: it merely went into hiding, continuing to exist parallel to our own. Secrecy is the key to Faerie’s survival—but no secret can be kept forever, and when the fae and mortal worlds collide, changelings are born. Half-human, half-fae, outsiders from birth, these second-class children of Faerie spend their lives fighting for the respect of their immortal relations.

Good Book, Bad Narrator
Revisado: 07-27-22
I enjoy this series and have read the first 3 novels. I'm a big fan of fae stories especially when the fae lore is obviously well researched. I am also a big fan of Urban Fantasy. Mixng these two elements together makes me very happy. I decided to get the audio book so I can listen to the series again while working. HOWEVER the narrator makes it very hard to finish listening. She does a great job until she tries an accent or a male voice. In my personal opinion...they could have hired someone a little better to perform this audio.

Historia
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

everyone ragging this book is an idiot
Revisado: 09-28-21
reviews I've read have stated how upset people are with Brando because they.feel this book was too talky, or was throwing mental illness at people in the shape of characters who "cant seem to get over it". that's mental illness, and this book has great representation of it as well as characters who are struggling and developing along with their issues. this book is amazing just like the previous 3, anyone who says otherwise is an inconsiderate, unimaginative fool

Historia
The world watches the sky with trepidation. The insanity of Xenocide knew no bounds, and all will soon suffer the effects he had planned for a millennium. Though none know what is to come, they all know it isn't going to be easy to survive. The Master has a plan, one that can give the world at large a way to escape the onrushing desolation. It may be on the bleeding edge of morality and what he needs might prove too difficult to secure, but the Master asks for trust. Cal and Dale both have their role to play as the world hurtles toward destruction.
