Historia
In a small apartment, Black and White, as the two men are known, begin a conversation that leads each back through his own history, mining the origins of two fundamentally opposing world views. White is a professor whose seemingly enviable existence of relative ease has left him nonetheless in despair. Black, an ex-con and ex-addict, is the more hopeful of the menthough he is just as desperate to convince White of the power of faith as White is desperate to deny it.

Stunningly well read

I'm only 20 minutes in, but the first ten alone would be make the next 70 minutes of it worthwhile even if they suck. Worth breaking your audio resistance :).
00:23 Message 2, sent to my brother the preacher:
If you haven't listened to this, the first 10 minutes of the 102 already indicate a strong recommendation (specifically to you). I love you, my brother. <3
00:52 Message 3, sent to my brother the preacher:
LOL... okay... after 29 minutes more listening, I'm like WHAT HAVE I DONE???
And, still, the recommendation stands.
01:18 Message 4, sent from my brother the preacher:
:) - will have to see what you're hearing. ...
Just put in a hold request.
How are you doing?
01:24 Message 5, sent to my brother the preacher:
At the moment, I am completely delighted with life and thought and Cormac McCarthy and exceptionally good and heartfelt reading and severely disappointed that there are only 38 minutes of this specific joy left.
I am well.
You?
01:42 Message 6, sent to the woman who is most passionate about books:
The next 70 minutes didn't suck.
-----------
This book. Not for the faint of heart, but it's Cormac McCarthy, so you already knew that.
I strongly recommend this audio edition. I suspect I wouldn't have gotten as much out of it in print. I could be wrong.
*Lets it rest for the night*

Senior ?
Revisado: 10-16-22
The shift in narrator this far into the series was a bit jarring. The narration of Joe immediately evoked Robert Wagner's portrayal of Anthony Dinozo Senior in NCIS. Whether it was that, a shift in the writing, or a lack of empathy in the delivery, it was the first time I felt Joe was a complete and disconnected idiot in his interactions with Gail.
Narration aside, the endings in this Series always feel abrupt to me. It feels like an overused device that works better in short stories than novels.
That being said, on to the next with Taylorson back. :)

Calm at first, Mark collects Nathan and takes him home, but as the hours slowly crawl by he increasingly starts to worry.

I have never shouted, "You idiot!!" out loud quite this often listening to a book :). Mark definitely qualifies as a fallible human, and his relationship with his son was touching (with a believable number of You Idiot moments).
Well written and narrated and thoroughly enjoyed.

Historia
An isolated cabin high on a stormy Colorado mountain that becomes snowbound in a raging blizzard. A homicidal maniac with superb mountaineering skills and sharpshooting aim with a rifle. Two local forest rangers unaware of what they’re walking into - and the trio of college kids they have come to rescue. As the freezing temperatures drop even lower, and the snow on the mountain above them accumulates, the danger and the tension pick up nightmare speed.

Revisado: 04-21-20
I suspect the book didn't, but my attention span is...iffy.. right now.
However, it kicked me in for an every-spare-minute marathon to the end.
Highly recommend. This is not an easy book, but immensely real.

Historia
In 1912, scientist Marie Curie spent two months on the British seaside at the home of Hertha Ayrton, an accomplished mathematician, inventor, and suffragette. At the time, Curie was in the throes of a scandal in France over her affair with Paul Langevin, which threatened to overshadow the accomplishment of her second Nobel Prize. Performed by Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany at the Minetta Lane Theatre, this play by Lauren Gunderson is an ode to two remarkable women.

Historia
Sebastien Ranes’s single mom and her feckless boyfriend can’t be bothered to take care of a stuttering 12-year-old. Banished to live with his grandmother on the far side of the country, the boy can barely understand a bus schedule when he gets dumped at the Greyhound station in Stockton, California. Given $35 and a one-way ticket to Altoona, Pennsylvania, Sebastien must cross the country - alone, without a clue how to fend for himself. Filled with youthful anger and naïveté, Sebastien heads out into the "Morning in America" of Ronald Reagan’s 1980s.

Young Adult recommendation
Revisado: 06-04-17
This would be a good bridge adult listen with Young Adults in the car - probably not for the under-10 kidlets. Grain of salt, I don't have any. Solid narration, good straightforward story.
For me, I liked it but didn't love it as hoped.

Historia
On its surface, life in Houston in the 1950s is as you'd expect: stoic fathers, restless teens, drive-in movies, and souped-up Cadillacs. But underneath lies a world shifting under high school junior Aaron Broussard's feet. There's a class war between the "haves" and the "have-nots" as well as a real war, Korea, happening on the other side of the world. It is against this backdrop that Aaron comes of age, trying to understand how first loves, friendship, violence, and power can alter what "traditional America" means for the people trying to find their way in a changing world.
