Good feels

I loved this story. The MCs are both so sweet and fun and I’m impressed at how real the story felt. The tough choices and moments were easier to bear because they felt true, not constructed for the sake of drama. The characters were consistent and good people. I loved being immersed in this world and I was sad when the book ended (because I wanted to stay in the world, not because the ending was sad. The ending was perfect.).
Great chemistry between MCs, delicious spice, and so much love and care. I want to read more stories like this. And this one again and again.

Sweet coming together romance

Solid journey of self-discovery for one MC coupled with the other learning he is worthy of love. Both MC’s are delightfully obsessed with hockey in different ways and I appreciate how hockey was woven into the story, especially sweet coaching moments with the camp kids.
Dislikes: the MCs perspectives towards women were pretty sexist (dismissive, objectifying), which really detracted from my enjoyment of the story. I also found the narrator of Jamie’s character had a lazy lilt to his tone that was a bit distracting.

Good:
- strong chemistry between MCs, good development of attraction, feelings, and connection, good communication
- solid narrative outside the romance, more tension than i was expecting from a cozy holiday romance, but it made for a compelling story
- excellent narration!!
Meh:
- bit of a slow start (but definitely became a page-turner)
- ending left a couple of key plot points unaddressed (maybe that’s intentional to hook you into the next book?)
