Historia
Sixteen-year-old Henry was ejected from the enormous St. Martin ranch and told never to return, or he would be shot on sight. He vowed to return and seek revenge against the entire family. When he finally returned, it wouldn’t be as Henry St. Martin, it would not be as a 16-year-old boy seeking justice for his mother, but as a hardened lawman with the name of Alex Paine.

Predictable, unrealistic, pollyanish

The performance was pretty good. Not very creative or historically accurate. If you have a lot of time to kill and can’t find anything else, it gets old space.

Fantastic!
Revisado: 09-25-23
I’m a fan so this is biased. Great story! I found myself wanting to find out where the story led like it was an action mystery. The characters are colorful, the connections to the past are real and nostalgic, and the tragedy breeds hope. I hope Mr. McGarrity continues this series and continues to entertain us for a long time. We’ll worth your listen

Yellowstone Kelly is an Indian fighter and scout like no other. The devil-may-care Irishman can pick off hostiles and quote the classics with equal ease and accuracy. Even the mighty Sioux fear him - or most of them fear him. Sitting Bull's main war chief, the dreaded Gall, fears no man, and Kelly has something of his that the warrior would gladly kill to get back - his woman.

Get the pronunciation right
Revisado: 10-12-21
Great story. It kills me the reader fails to take the time to find out the pronunciation of foreign words repeatedly. In this day and age a simple google search would provide a much better read. Books are edited, shouldn’t performances be too?

Mr. Box continues to deliver. He develops characters and challenges them in ways that are real to our struggles. Over and over again, my only regret is that I can’t start the series from scratch and read them for the first time.

Sophomoric at best
Revisado: 05-30-19
While the story is passable, somewhat entertaining, it lacks the detail and story to make it gripping. It also is inaccurate in details that are placed to make it seem more accurate. A bridle set has bridle chain s whereas the book asserts the “bridle chain”, there is no such thing.
The reading is terrible. The voices of characters are made out like whiny third graders rather than gritty men of the west. A cross between Bullwinkle and Gomer Pile. A disappointment. I will not listen to another book read by this guy.

After the deaths of his wife and brother, John Kerney gives up his West Texas ranch and heads south in search of a new home. Soon Kerney is offered work trailing cattle to the New Mexico Territory - a job that will forever change his life.

Reading was disappointing
Revisado: 02-06-19
I love this author. I am from New Mexico and it kills me how terrible the local pronunciation is. One would think that someone would do a little research into how words are pronounced so they are authentic or at least close. Worth the money none the less.

Historia
Wyoming's new governor isn't sure what to make of Joe Pickett, but he has a job for him that is extremely delicate. A prominent female British executive never came home from the high-end guest ranch she was visiting, and the British Embassy is pressing hard. Pickett knows that happens sometimes - these ranches are stocked with handsome young cowboys, and "ranch romances" aren't uncommon. But no sign of her months after she vanished? That suggests something else.

Great story annoying details
Revisado: 11-05-18
I fell in love with this series. It’s annoying how the author can’t keep things straight. Even which of a major character’s former husband was murdered. Then the small ones like the type of hat (it was a resistol in one then a Stetson in the next), besides the fact that a resistol cattle baron is not pure beaver. Then small things like the plane is a gulf stream in one and a Cessna in the next. Small details, but it bothers me because some of those things are what I appreciate most about great writers. The stories continue to engage, but I’m disappointed that the author can’t keep his story straight, or thinks his readers are too dumb to notice.

Historia
Joe Pickett's in his last week as the temporary game warden in the town of Baggs, Wyoming, but there have been strange things going on in the mountains, and his conscience won't let him leave without checking them out: reports of camps looted, tents slashed, elk butchered. And then there's the runner who simply vanished one day. Joe doesn't mind admitting that the farther he rides, the more he wishes he could just turn around and go home.

Historia
When tribal police officer Bernadette Manuelito arrives to speak at a program for at-risk teens, she discovers chaos. Everyone is concerned about a beloved instructor who went out into the wilds of the rugged lava wilderness bordering Ramah Navajo Reservation to find a missing girl. The instructor vanished somewhere in the volcanic landscape known as El Malpais. The instructor's disappearance mirrors a long-ago search that may be connected to a case in which the legendary Joe Leaphorn played a crucial role.

Great story, reading pretty good
Revisado: 09-17-18
The story is fantastic. Continues the quality of her past writing. The reading is only annoying in that she gets some pronunciation correct and some just wrong. I would rather hear it all pronounced in an white American accent, or correct pronunciation throughout. Mostly attempts at Spanish words or names, the Dine is mostly pretty good.
