Historia
Two days before Christmas 1996, the broken, battered body of Sophie Toscan du Plantier was found outside her vacation home in West Cork, a serene region on Ireland’s idyllic southern coast. Decades later, no one has been charged with the murder, but the aggrieved inhabitants of West Cork are convinced they know who did it - and he still lives among them.

so unpredictible
Revisado: 03-22-18
I think this story is better than Netflix's "the making if a murderer". I would watch a movie/documentary made based on this real life story.

Historia
Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity, complete with friendships, investigations, and supernatural dreams along the way. Providing an intimate window into a loving Muslim home, Qureshi shares how he developed a passion for Islam before discovering, almost against his will, evidence that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Unable to deny the arguments but not wanting to deny his family, Qureshi's inner turmoil will challenge Christians and Muslims alike.

such an intelectual and emotional roller-coaster!
Revisado: 09-23-16
amazing story! I am an audible member for quite a few years but this is my 1st review: because I am overwhelmed by the author's amazing journey! this book is not about religion or preparing oneself for proselytizing. it's about searching for evidence, questioning authority, demolishing myths and allowing vulnerability and honesty to take over. The best book I've ever purchased!

Revisado: 04-04-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, anyone can benefit from reading such an informational work ( you don't need to work in the field, it's enough if you are a parent)
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Coming Plague?
They are to many to list
Have you listened to any of Kimberly Schraf’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. I liked her voice very much
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
That we cannot wait/relay for CDC or other governmental agency to do a better job; we need to stay informed if we want to protect our loved ones.
Any additional comments?
I will listen to this long audiobook again one day and perhaps I will buy the real book so I can hi light the most important things I need to know.

Historia
Am I happy enough? This has been a pivotal question since America's inception. "Am I not happy enough because I am depressed?" is a more recent version. Psychotherapist Gary Greenberg shows how depression has been manufactured---not as an illness but as an idea about our suffering, its source, and its relief. He challenges us to look at depression in a new way.

Where does Manufacturing Depression rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
the best listen so far
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
bouth
Any additional comments?
I was "treated" by ignorant family doctor with antidepressants when in fact I had Lyme disease.. recently diagnosed and apparently too late for a chance of getting cured fast and easy. I lost years of my life because incompetent doctors found it easier and more convenient to feed me antidepressants instead of sending me fore more diagnosis investigations.
