Historia
In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

Wow!
Revisado: 12-04-20
I'm listening to the first of two books that has really opened my eyes and illuminated my mind. Heck, have even touched my soul.
To preface, I listened to Michelle Obama's book and that I was not surprised to find it was an excellant listen. I expected it to be filled with her battle with racial prejudice and was surprised that it wasn't. That it was filled with the love she has for her Obama, their courtship. How Trump put her daughters, not she and Obama, but her daughters in harm's way. But what was especially surprising was to hear her read her book. Our human voice has such a way of displaying our soul. I felt I got to know the real Michelle, that by narrating her own novel the listener, me, got to know the person behind The First Lady. And I was not disappointed, Michelle did not disappoint.
I'm glad your not a rocket scientist as he or she is too deep in physics to usually comprehend the human condition. I can't wait for Barack's second book to be released. The first book is the first part of two by Barack Obama. I didn't know this is his third book. I'm not surprised that it reinforces my belief that he's going to be remembered more for his amazing command at the helm of our country than his being the first President of mixed race of the USA (yeah, he is truely 50% Caucasian and 50% African). Like Michelle, he also narrates his own book. Though at times it lacks inflection, kind of monotone for the eloquent speaker he is, hearing him speaking his own prose brings a depth of communication that the words on a page can't deliver. Like Michelle, he does not linger on the racial prejudice he has had to have been subjected to. He tells you where the "Dems", the "Reps" and himself failed our country. In clear terms, not accusatory. He covers the events in his life as it plays out in his Presidency with a clarity of neutrality while letting you know his feelngs, his take on it, including where and how he failed or triumphed. The later with a surprising matter of fairness, factness, without a hint of self aggrandizement. Truely surprising.
One gets a real sense of the motion, movement of our government, our politics. The behind the scenes that I had no idea of, that our News never portrayed. I had no idea how much and to what import, extent, he was juggling the forces that were affecting our lives.
This is truely an amazing listen. A behind the scenes look at what was happening in our lives while we got gas, went to Safeway and generally went about our lives.
These are two great listens of two amazing people. Politics be dammed.

Historia
After the Renegade mission by the crew of the starship Flying Dutchman, the UN Expeditionary Force thought Earth was safe for hundreds of years, at least. So, the Flying Dutchman is sent out on a simple recon mission. But for the pirates, nothing is ever simple, and their mission will become Armageddon.

R. C. Bray is Amazing
Revisado: 08-02-20
Bray has brought to life my new favorite AI/robot. Bigger than life actually. The story line does creep along but the wit and humor more than make up for it. It's true Space Opera. I've found myself laughing out loud at times which can be quit embarrassing in public. I've only read the dot zeroes so have the dot fives to look forward to after 10.0 due out in a couple days.

Narrator Richard Poe is sorely missed
Revisado: 03-01-20
After 12 novels why was the narrator changed? Richard Poe is awesome: numerous characterizations, accents and pronunciations.
I had to put this aside and will try to com back to it. The performance is singsong with hardly any variation certainly no consistently. What's really frustrating is the monotone delivery.

Historia
Birds are astonishingly intelligent creatures. In fact, according to revolutionary new research, some birds rival primates and even humans in their remarkable forms of intelligence. Like humans, many birds have enormous brains relative to their size. Although small, bird brains are packed with neurons that allow them to punch well above their weight.

What really brings this trilogy to life is the narration. Your never aware of a narrator trying to voice the opposite sex. Your instantly aware of which character is talking by the distinct voice the narrator uses. And some of the characters are priceless.

Historia
Like the alphabet, the calendar, or the zodiac, the periodic table of the chemical elements has a permanent place in our imagination. But aside from the handful of common ones (iron, carbon, copper, gold), the elements themselves remain wrapped in mystery. We do not know what most of them look like, how they exist in nature, how they got their names, or of what use they are to us.
