Good for thise interested in the justice system
Revisado: 02-04-23
I'd suggest setting the speed to a higher setting since the narration is on the slower side. great book with good historical context and explanations of the law while the case itself is read as if paraphrasing the words from the transcript (if not, literally read word for word from the transcript)

Historia
Bunny girls do not live in libraries. This is simply common sense. And yet, that’s exactly where Sakuta finds one in the wild. More bewildering is who the bunny girl is: Mai Sakurajima, a girl one year older than Sakuta, famous at their school for her acting career even though she’s currently on break. To top it all off, it seems like no one else in the library can see Mai at all, no matter what she does or...wears.

Predictable/ filled with tropey cliche characters
Revisado: 12-18-22
Maybe I wasn't the intended audience but the overdone animesque highschool make protagonist who is an outcast and doesn't care about fitting in with a little sister who adores him and a cool popular guy best friend is boring to me.
the female protagonist is also the biggest trope character who purposely sets up situations where the male protagonist will look or sound bad, then proceeds to get angry at him. It's really just not my thing.
It's a nice thing to listen to passively and I did enjoy the mkre intimate personal moments when there wasn't this awkward air of forced highschool level horny banter. It's not that that type of dialogue cant be pulled off, it's just, here it feels all so surface level and cliche. No new way of presenting it, or any way to read deeper into it.
Though, all of the could be forgiven if it wasn't for the performance itself. The reader has this jarring talking through his teeth way of explaining things, and even though it's not a constant, it's often enough that by tge first hour, you're already tired of it.
Every female talks on this weird hushed voice except for the sister which is this grating high pitched voice.
I'll proabably get the second book if I have absolutely nothing else to read

Historia
For 300 years, The Pilgrim's Progress has remained perhaps the best-loved and most read of devotional fictions. In plain yet powerful and moving language, Bunyan tells the story of Christian's struggle to attain salvation and the Gates of Heaven. He must pass through the Slough of Despond, ward off the temptations of Vanity Fair, and fight the monstrous Apollyon. In Part II, his wife and children follow the same path, helped and protected by Great-heart, until for them, too, "the trumpets sound on the other side."

Very on the nose analogy for the Christian journey
Revisado: 12-17-22
A good listen but it can be a bit tough to get through and a bit slow. Like a show that fails to respect the viewers intelligence enough to not constantly explain whats going on, it makes the experience feel lesser than what it could have been.
Not really any problem, I wouldn't listen again but u did enjoy it for the most part, it was just a bit of a slog, that towards the end I could myself listening on 2 times speed to get through while still listening and grading the story.
If you're interested, get it. if you're not, dont.

Historia
A class president among class presidents, a bespectacled model student who soars to the top of honors lists without fail, Tsubasa Hanekawa also happens to be a decent human being. True, she does have a habit of making single-minded assumptions, but they come from a good place and turn out to be fortuitous as often as not.

Unlike many titles on audible
Revisado: 12-17-22
It's unfortunate they seem to be done creating audio books for the monogatari series, as this is hands down the best audio book I've enjoyed. Not only is Nisioisin a master at creating character driven stories with entertaining conversations, but the performance between the cast made me feel like I was reading the book again for the first time.

A refreshing entry after the first three volumes
Revisado: 12-16-22
Though this book has a more relaxed pace and isn't as intense in terms of stakes, it manages to be just as engaging. We've seen instances where their physical and emotional wellbeing were on the line but this part is a bit of a breather, as they work to solve a small mystery that would spell ruin for an even smaller town, while still trying to learn about Holo's hometown.
I was happy to see Brina Palencia had even more of a role in this volume than she did in the last one and while I thought it was strange that in volume 3, they just switched reading randomly, with this volume I've come to appreciate how Brina and Michael both give their own spin on how their own as well as the other opposite character comes off.
For example, Michael reads Lawrence as calm and methodical, where as Brina read him as slightly mysterious and collected.
Brina on the other hand reads Holo as Brimming with wisdom first theb slightly flirty and playful second while Michael read Holo as playful and slightly haughty with the wisdom coming second and I'd like to think this dynamic as deliberate as this is how each character views the others.
In anycase, I do hope for the entire series to come soon, but I'll start by hoping for just the fifth book because like the others, I'm sure it'll have an amazing performance.

Impressive, now let's see Paul Allen's review
Revisado: 12-08-22
really good, got through it in a few days. some of the scenes are pretty disturbing but can turn unintentionally funny as well. it starts out slow, but hang in there for the first bit and you'll be rewarded.
my only grievance is all the females are voiced like they're in a constant state of inquositive, horny drunkenness, then again maybe that was intentional.
