Historia
When Margo Price was nineteen years old, she dropped out of college and moved to Nashville to become a musician. She busked on the street, played open mics, and even threw out her TV so that she would do nothing but write songs. She met Jeremy Ivey, a fellow musician who would become her closest collaborator and her husband. But after working on their craft for more than a decade, Price and Ivey had no label, no band, and plenty of heartache. Maybe We’ll Make It is a memoir of loss, motherhood, and the search for artistic freedom in the midst of the agony.

Candid, heart-wrenching, true

I originally didn’t listen to her music, but we grew up in the same small town so I felt I owed it to her to listen to her story. I suppose I’m biased in that way, I felt for her so strongly as she described her experience in her (our) hometown, and how she dreamed of so much more. As an aspiring artist, hers was a hard story to listen to. It seems to require so much suffering to “make it” in any big, notable way as someone coming from with-out the industry or any legs up. I respect the hell out of her, her voice, and her persistence. And her music should go down in history. True country.

A dang good time

I normally don’t follow audiobooks very much but I can’t imagine this book without the voice included. And this story!! I loved that things weren’t crystal clear at parts, that the imagination had room to fill in. So good 10/10
