Historia
After the killing of a prominent mob lawyer, NYPD homicide detectives Jacob Jackson and Caitlin Grimes start receive chilling, written “rules” for how to commit the perfect murder. "Rule number one for the perfect murder: Evidence is your enemy. Leave none behind." Jackson (Reid Scott) and Grimes (Cobie Smulders) race to find the killer, setting them on a collision course with the city’s crime underbelly, and a perpetrator who seems happy to toy with them. “Rule number two. No crimes of passion. The perfect murder is always business, never pleasure.”

Everything is a total MESS here
Revisado: 01-14-25
I disliked the fact that I was fooled into buying this book thinking it is an audiobook. It isn’t. II is type of radio theatre production. There are too many voices to distinguish. There is no narration of the book, just the “acting out” of dialogues. Not what I like in a book and not what I thought I was getting.

Historia
This explosive new audiobook challenges many of the long-held assumptions about blacks, about Jews, about Germans and Nazis, about slavery, and about education. Plainly written, powerfully reasoned, and backed with a startling array of documented facts, Black Rednecks and White Liberals takes on the trendy intellectuals of our times as well as historic interpreters of American life.

This book is indispensable if you want to understand the black history in the USA, and why we are where we are now.
Revisado: 06-20-24
I have just discovered the genius of Dr. Sowell. Wow. His knowledge is mind-blowing and his way of putting the facts before your eyes without trying to sway you politically in any direction is deeply appreciated. Read this book if you want to understand what’s REALLY going on with races, racism, etc., and why.

A deep look into our lives
Revisado: 04-08-24
So much is wonderfully packed in this book… It is certainly NOT a sci-fi genre but we can call it dystopia, sure. Yet those who are looking for deeper meaning will find it captivating on completely different levels. Themes: scientific discoveries, their usage and ethics in human society; meaning of life; the role of art and creativity; value of emotions, humanity, love. It is a great book.

Astonishing virtuosity of form and substance
Revisado: 10-11-23
This book is not for an average reader. A lot of people would not get it. Those who do, will carry it with them as a magical torch. Brilliant architecture of form, an Egyptian Pyramid. Incomparable writer and a
Fantastic cast of readers. In one word, phenomenal.

Historia
Gender identity ideology is about more than Twitter storms and using the right pronouns. In just 10 years, laws, company policies, school and university curricula, sport, medical protocols, and the media have been reshaped to privilege self-declared gender identity over biological sex. People are being shamed and silenced for attempting to understand the consequences of redefining "man" and "woman". While compassion for transgender lives is well-intentioned, it is stifling much-needed inquiry into the significance of our bodies.

A must read
Revisado: 10-10-23
Before reading this eye-opener, I was thinking that supporting trans people fell into the category of supporting gay-lesbian people. I had NO idea what’s done to the children and how much money is being poured into this lunacy by some of the wealthiest men. People must stop this insanity. Thank you, Helen Joyce!

A very mixed bag
Revisado: 09-18-23
As I was listening to the book, I felt interested, annoyed, taken in, frustrated, and, ultimately, bored. I even had to skip two or three last chapters/stories. The ending, while revealing to some readers, felt especially boring to me.
I also hated some readers or, should I say, their oh-so-sappy interpretations. They made the lines sound worse than they probably are. I didn’t know if the author was male or female but at times the story sounded like a chick lit, the worst kind of literature, imo (and I’m a woman.) And I believe, it was sure to the narration. All in all, this work is not a winner for me.

Historia
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

In a nutshell: A wonderful reader. Some super-capable strong women. Evil men. A horrid prospect of the end of the world (an interesting idea.) Some terrific inconsistencies. Should you read it? Depends on your level of intelligence…

Historia
In 2007, the Center for Automation in Nanobiotech (CAN) outlined the hardware and software platforms that would one day allow robots smaller than human cells to make medical diagnoses, conduct repairs, and even self-propagate. In the same year, the CBS network re-aired a program about the effects of propranolol on sufferers of extreme trauma. A simple pill, it had been discovered, could wipe out the memory of any traumatic event. At almost the same moment in humanity’s broad history, mankind discovered the means for bringing about its utter downfall. And the ability to forget it ever happened.

Revisado: 06-20-23
While this book gives confirmation of what one already suspects after reading Wool, there is just too much pulp in it. It could have much shorter with fewer unnecessary descriptions. I’d return it if I could…

Never thought I’d love a book about video gaming
Revisado: 05-22-23
This book was a very unlikely choice for me. Once I realized the subject, I thought I’d probably have to return it. But the book never let me go. Moreover, I finally understood why my own kid was into video games, which was something completely foreign to me. For years, I thought he was just wasting his life… It is a great book. If you choose it, you would not be disappointed.

Is that what “romance” books are like???
Revisado: 03-22-23
The book is written in 3d grade English. The plot is as inventive as the 4th grade essay. The protagonist (although she wouldn’t know this word) is a PERFECT woman, with perfect husband, perfect daughters, perfect clothes, perfect wealth. Ah, and just two hateful stepchildren, of course. What happens is a dull fairy tale of the so-called “survival” of a ritzy lady who is suddenly dismissed from her mansion. One contrivance follows another. All characters are vapid. The story is sickeningly predictable and told with lots of repetitions. How old is the author? My impression is that she is forgetting what she already wrote in the previous paragraph or even the preceding sentence. Cliche relentlessly follows another cliche throughout the book. I had to exercise my utter inner masochist to keep listening to this garbage. And this author is one of the richest writers??? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE???
