the end was just.... dragging (kind of spoilers)
Revisado: 06-18-21
I really did like this series of books. I mean 30 some hours they became part of my life after a while. lol the only issue I had was the way they had Shane's personality change so drastically towards the end. well not even the end about the middle of the book. the comic relief completely left the. granite I can understand why. he became that cocky guy that everybody rolls their eyes when he starts talking shit. I mean I don't know it just seemed a little extra just my own personal opinion. Other than that bravo Ron and as usual Thom Bowers did a wonderful job narrating.

I just can NOT
Revisado: 01-10-21
I can say C.S. puts amazing details into this story. however he almost over did it. or maybe it was the narrator. Geoffrey Howard will forever be engraved in my memory for having the single most monotone droning voice I've ever heard. I had a hard time staying awake. his voice did no justice for this story. Maybe by if I read the book myself I'll actually enjoy it.

what the heck man...
Revisado: 06-17-20
over all I didn't find this book as good as the prior ones. I found myself having a hard time finishing conference of the birds but it could have been because I've been binge reading/listening (whatever you wanna call it) to the entire series since we have been in quarantine. I find their defying attitudes slightly annoying but it might be because I'm an adult reading a teen/young adult series. It's just that their attitudes always seem to get them into some sort of crazyness. I mean I understand that is how plots are formed but something about it rubs me the wrong way 😄 I'm frustrated that this story didn't really have an ending to it. It was like they reached their word limit and were like "There 50,000 words, this will do!" and didn't bother to wrap it up. Other than that great book.

Historia

As a hurricane rushes towards the island, she shelters the handsome stranger, names him “Monty”, and tries to uncover the mystery of his missing memory. She soon finds herself falling in love with a man she barely knows, and who doesn’t even know himself. The Mountain and the Sea is a romantic tale about letting go of the past and embracing the present.

pretty good
Revisado: 05-16-20
It was a very good short story. I was able to finish it in less than 24 hours. That's saying saying something because usually I drag my feet getting through alot of these. I love the fact that she was such a free spirited woman. She didn't need a man and even though she was mourning the loss of her husband, the story didn't have a black rain cloud overtop of it. Quite the opposite actually. I love her attitude towards alot of things.

Historia
More than a year after she helped save the world from the Sparnaxian invasion, Andrea Vernon is in a good place. Her boss is giving her greater responsibility and she’s getting to travel a lot (although her fill-in is hopeless at making coffee); things could be getting even more serious with her 8’ 4” superhero boyfriend, The Big Axe; and she has a really fun new BFF, Never More. Small issue, though, with that last item - Never More is a supervillain bent on world domination, and it looks as if nothing can stop her.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Entertaining
Revisado: 05-11-20
This was such a nice story to listen to. a nice change of pace from the stories of the women who are constantly making decisions that make you cringe. it's nice to listen to a story about a heroine and her sidekick making their way threw their adventures. thinking outside of the box and not waiting for someone to come save her. I love this story. it was very motivating and uplifting and not dragged out like some other adventure stories tend to be.

"You've long set your heart against it, Axl, I know. But it's time now to think on it anew. There's a journey we must go on, and no more delay..." The Buried Giant begins as a couple set off across a troubled land of mist and rain in the hope of finding a son they have not seen in years. Sometimes savage, often intensely moving, Kazuo Ishiguro's first novel in nearly a decade is about lost memories, love, revenge, and war.

Revisado: 04-07-20
I'm so mad right now how are they going to end it like that! The story was ok at parts it dragged on and was hard to follow. it might have just been me and my scatter brain self but it was a over all an okay-ish story. It's not really what I was expecting and I probably wouldn't read it again. As far as the "giants" they talk about .... yea no... I think they mentioned them a few times in the beginning. However there is a dragon that plays a pretty big roll.
<3 the relationship between Axl and Beatrice is so adorable for the most part.

amazing to be a part of their world!!
Revisado: 04-04-20
it was so awesome to feel like you were a child in there world growing up. listening to fairy tales told by their parents. kind of like Cinderella or Hansel and Gretel or any of those types of stories we were told growing up. They all had different types of lessons to them but their own Harry Potter twist to them. Some of them are a little dark and some of them are lighter all of them are entertaining. I personally liked the first one. if more people could learn that lesson the world would be a better place. kindness is free ;)

Historia
Late Victorian London. When James Miller, the most respectable of Scottish businessmen, is pulled, dead, from the Thames, his daughter is drawn into an investigation which reveals a whole world of secrets and corruption. Alongside local detective Culley, Catriona’s search for her father’s killer leads all the way to the tragic truth behind the ghostly legend of The Darkwater Bride and the power of her deadly kiss. The Darkwater Bride combines the genres of the Victorian mystery thriller with the equally classic Victorian mode of the ghostly tale.

pretty good
Revisado: 03-26-20
the stubborn headedness of Katrina was quite annoying. I'm all for a strong minded woman. However considering she kept hearing and seeing things she didn't want to see and kept running to see them anyway and strongly protesting when anyone suggested that maybe she might not want to. mainly being the brothel and then the second brothel when you could obviously hear moaning in the the background and "shes like what's back? there I need to see!" she might have been dumb the night before but after almost getting her butt thrown into sex slavery you would think that would have wizened her up ... this is the second book I've read lately with a female character that was painted so naive and so quick to run and make an ass out of herself...it makes me wonder how these authors see females?
