I hesitated to start this book because there was so much hype around it but oh man, it 100% lives up to the hype! This book is incredible! Mind blowing! I was captivated from the very first paragraph and it just kept getting better! Highly recommend! The narration is also amazing!

Mixed feelings

This book was good but I felt like it was a bit forced and definitely too corny in some areas. I found myself rolling my eyes and wanting to stop at some parts because it was too forced. The overall story is good but I wasn’t on the edge of my seat. Some reviews say the ending was shocking but I didn’t find it that way. I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series or not.

I was very excited for this new book but then realized that it was just a retelling of the first book from Cass's point of view with tiny snips of the present. It was a nice listen but also why even do this...? If you aren't ready to actually put out a new book then don't just re-tell a previous one. I don't understand the point of this.

I absolutely loved this book. It had many parts, characters and depth. You can definitely tell that this is building to be a bigger series. I felt like it could have been a tad longer with a little bit more time with the two main characters and I am a little sad that the next book goes to different characters right away but I am excited to have more of the story. The narrating was fine there was some long pauses between chapters and other times so pause at all but that's it.

This book felt all over the place for me. I did not like the characters, the close up of abuse, none of it. I did not look into what the book was about before I started it. Just was going off of recommendations and the fact that it was a best seller. I was very disappointed in it and am not sure that I want to try another of this authors books now. Which is sad since so many people I know love her writing. Just was not for me.
