Historia
This two-story compiliation, read by Stefan Rudnicki, offers two stories from David Drake's popular Hammer's Slammers series. In At Any Price, Col. Alois Hammer's indomitable Slammers are called in to support human colonists against a native uprising in this novel-length adventure. But even though the natives' off-world weapons are no match for the Slammers, their ability to teleport gives them a frightening advantage! In Rolling Hot, the battle-crazed troop of recruits and vets, led by Captain Ranson, must cover 300 miles of hostile enemy territory.

Historia
When Harold Godwinson is crowned king of England in 1066, William of Normandy contests his right to be king because of an oath Harold had earlier sworn to support William's own acquisition of the throne. Henty's treatment of this critical time in history of the English people is even-handed, and his portrayal of Harold Godwinson - a king much neglected in our day - is a sympathetic one. Wulf of Steyning, a young Saxon thane in the service of Earl Harold, accompanies him on his fateful trip to Normandy.

Good book to much noise
Revisado: 10-02-20
It is a good story, somewhat predictable but still enjoyable. The reading contained to much noise/music. The characters have the ability to grow and it looks they will as the series goes on. Predictable but very enjoyable. Our Capitan Brewers building his team just as Capt Hornblower, Capt Bolitho.

Another good Book by Cornwell
Revisado: 06-07-20
I have been reading Cornwell since I found Richard Sharpe in the 90'a. I got into this series after starting to watch the Netflix series by the same name and asked myself why I stopped reading his books. The Characters are well thought out and the events historically accurate. Truly enjoyable.
John Lee has a great voice but it is to refined for this series. I think this series needs a harsher tone for it to truly reflect tone of the books. No reflection on him his pace is great he accurately performs the book.

Enjoy this series this one over stretched a bit.
Revisado: 03-30-20
All 3 of this series have been great. This one has a bit of a stretch for Mycroft and Sherlock with their powers of deduction in 1 or 2 parts. Both charcter's are fleshed out and we get a wonderful of Mycroft's emotional state and how he deals with his feelings towards himself and towards Sherlock.

Historia
As soon as the financial crisis erupted, the finger-pointing began. Should the blame fall on Wall Street, Main Street, or Pennsylvania Avenue? On greedy traders, misguided regulators, sleazy subprime companies, cowardly legislators, or clueless home buyers? According to Bethany McLean and Joe Nocera, two of America's most acclaimed business journalists, the real answer is all of the above-and more. Many devils helped bring hell to the economy.

Financial Services Does it Again
Revisado: 03-30-20
Regulators & Financial Companies were up to it again. Good story kind of depressing not because of the author or the narrator but the fact that this should have been seen before it happened.

Historia
Bernard Cornwell, the New York Times best-selling "reigning king of historical fiction" (USA Today), tackles his most thrilling, rich, and enthralling subject yet - the heroic tale of Agincourt. The epic battle immortalized by William Shakespeare in his classic Henry V is the background for this breathtaking tale of heroism, love, devotion, and duty from the legendary author of the Richard Sharpe novels and the Saxon Tales.

Love the book, Narrator is Good, Why the Music
Revisado: 09-03-19
I love Bernard Cornwell, Charles Keating is a good Narrator, would be great but some voices are cheesy. I don't know why the music is there. Broke up a great story. Whoever added it should not be allowed to touch anymore Cornwell books.

Historia
This is the classic - and somewhat clichéd - image of the Vikings, and their fearsome reputation was in many respects well deserved, the Norse sagas charting their deeds in all their lurid glory. But over the past century, thanks to a wealth of new archaeological evidence, a much more nuanced picture of the Vikings has emerged, providing profound insights into one of the most astonishing, misunderstood, and adaptable of European civilizations.

Informative but dry
Revisado: 04-26-16
This short book has a lot of information about the Vikings and who they were & what they did. Hard to tell where one chapter ended or when theie was a header announcing a change of subject. Had to back up several times to understand where I was & what was happening.
